PELONIS Oscillating Table Air Circulation Fan, 12-Inch, Black

We don't have AC, so we rely on fans to cool us in our extreme Southern California summers -- and the 2008 Palm Aire desk fan that cools my room at night finally gave up the ghost last week. Looking ahead to this week's climb back up into the mid-high 90s after a week of reduced temperatures due to smoke-overcast from the fires south and north of us, I did quick research for a like replacement and made a decision ASAP.I ordered this fan on Sept. 13th and it was consistently projected to arrive on Sept. 19th, but I needed a replacement fan no matter what, so I figured I'd tough it all week. Delightfully, it just arrived this morning, the 17th; I was hoping it would arrive earlier than projected, but with manufacture, stock, and delivery still so compromised by health crises and natural disasters, I wasn't expecting it.Assembly was well-explained and simple, and, since I just spent a couple weeks wrestling with my old, dying fan, made it appear that basic maintenance would be equally straight-forward. Lack of oil was what killed my old fan (burned the thermal fuse, etc.), so along with de-fuzzing, I'll be fitting in annual oil-checks for this fan to try to make the most of its lifespan.Since I've only just received and briefly test-run the fan, I don't have any information yet about more long-term user experience; I hope to fill that in in the future for others' reference.What did impress me about the fan aside from it seeming to be as-described, easy to assemble, functioning, and functional as a small room cooler was the packaging. It came in a carboard box, the formed braces for the parts inside were carboard, and all the plastic bags are stample recyclable. There is one small piece of blue polyethylene foam that was cushioning the fan shaft which is also recyclable. Obviously, biodegradable is better than recyclable, but I very much appreciated the effort to edge-out non-recyclable, non-biodegradable materials in their packaging. If I have to invest in plastic (as the majority of the fan is), I'm grateful for any feasible reductions in the impact of the product.

I am over the moon, HAPPY with this fan, was searching for many years, to find one that, REALLY is QUIET! I use this fan every night, in my bedroom, and it is whisper quiet, you cannot hear ANY noises, coming from it. I can't tell you how many fans, I've purchased through the years, and all of them sounded like, jet engines, taking flight, vibrating parts making it sound like it's ready to explode LOL, no joke! Also this fan was an awesome value, for what you get, finally a fan, that really does, do what it says...PRICELESS :-)!! I have never been good with putting things together, so it took me longer, than probably the average person. But I did it, and now just, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, my new, quiet fan, highly recommend this product!

I bought one. It was inexpensive, easy to assemble, quiet. Bought it to augment my whole house air conditioning unit, which is getting old and weakens at outside temps above 85. Put it on the floor where it would blow into the bedroom at night from a hallway which is always cooler. It worked. I thought, if I had one more of these in the living room.. So I bought another one. Same as above. Even better. If I needed a third one (I don't) I wouldn't hesitate to buy PELONIS again. (BTW, it's a table fan, plastic blade and stands about 18" high. So far it's quieter than any box fans I've owned.) And yes, America, it was made in China. It's a fan, after all, and they've had them in China for over a thousand years :0)>

Very nice fan. Easy assembly, especially if you read the simple instructions which I didn't. I found myself looking for a large plastic nut in the box and bags and finally found it already threaded on the fan motor. you just take it off, put on the blade and hand screw it back on, per the instructions. I like the straight forward easy access buttons. I have a similar size Honeywell fan that has worked well for years but in order to turn it on and to different speeds you have to push in a dial and turn it to the setting you want. It requires two hands in order to steady the fan base while doing this. This push button fan control is much better.

This fan is the mini replica of the Pelonis 18"" version. We were satisfied with the larger one so ordered this one for kids bedroom.This is a fan suitable for small bedrooms in apartments or houses. It will also work in any room in today's box condos. It may not provide full coverage in a house's master bedroom or for living rooms in house/older appartment/condos.The noise is bearable on any of the three speeds. And the small size with a solid base does not create any vibrations either.The best thing is all parts are detachable without requiring any tools so you can easily clean/wash them.When assembling, ensure that the rear grill settles down correctly. It will only fit when the non movable part on the grill is at the bottom.It does oscillate but note that this does NOT have a remote.

Oscillating function broke in months

This fan is fantastic. Even on the lowest setting, it provides a really nice breeze without disturbing items near it. We have a portable AC unit which often isn't enough in spring/summer as we get blasted by morning sun. This fan has been a lifesaver. It's great during the day beside my laptop, and I often run it at night too. SO quiet I often don't realize it's on; I'm just blissed out by the cool air. When we get into the summer months, the two higher levels will be used but honestly, even the lowest setting makes a huge difference in the temperature.Love it so much I ordered a second one for my kiddo's room.

I love, love, love this fan. It is so much quieter than my old one. It's hard enough sleeping when it's hot without adding a noisy fan. The lowest setting is whisper quiet. It is exactly as pictured and was very easy to assemble once I realized the locking nut was screwed onto the motor shaft. I was looking for it in the bag and thought it was missing. I love that it has push buttons for on/off and speed settings. My old fan had a knob (plastic) which eventually broke. This fan should last forever.
