I turned my daughter into a cook
I bought this for my 8 year old daughter to cook with me. She is able to safely chop vegetables, it functions great! The weight and size is good for her smaller hands. It looks cool. Its actually sharp, but safe. We wash it in our dishwasher. This is an amazing training knife, and worth a buy. You too can transform your kids into a cook.

Perfect for little chefs!
Purchased this for my youngest, who loves to chop veggies. I like that it is a sturdy and sharp knife, but has a blunt tip so she won’t poke herself or others. The finger guard is very handy and makes us both feel a little safer. It also encourages proper grip and has improved her chopping speed. It’s so much easier for her to use than the plastic kids knives. Really great for elementary aged chefs!

competent mini chef
Perfect first knife for my seven year old, it is sharp, sturdy, stable. The finger guard could be wider, and I have mixed feelings about its use in general. Worth the price for the knife alone.

Great product!
Easy to use. Great quality. Excited to give my kids some independence while also keeping them safe! I’ve had this in my Amazon cart for months and finally purchased when we needed it for nature school:) Wish I had gotten it sooner.

Nice knife and a good deal, but needs a little work out of the box.
Great kid-sized knife for my 7 year old daughter. The handle seems like it will hold up well with hand washing and drying, being careful to not let the wood sit wet. The finger guard on the knife (the circle on the handle) is useful for little ones, but teaches poor form on how to properly hold a chef’s knife and hinders control, but I guess we’ll work on that when she graduates to a “real” chef’s knife in a few years. The blade needed a little work out of the box. The top edges were a little sharp. I was afraid a slip of the hand could cause a scrape on the fingers. Some 320 grit sandpaper eased the edges just enough fairly quickly. The blade was semi-sharp, but I could feel a bur on the edge on one side. This is caused by the sharpening process at the factory- imagine the blade going to a fine point but curled to one side. Some stropping on a leather wheel with some sharpening compound brought this little knife to the next level- it passed my ultimate test of arm hair shaveability. After that, my daughter noticed how much easier it was to dice an onion. I would buy again- and will if it’s still available when my 5 year old gets a little older. Even with a little extra work to perfect it’s performance, it still a good deal.

Great Training Knife
I have a very inquisitive, curious little toddler. He's always trying to help in the kitchen, and is very meticulous in everything he does. I got him this knife for Christmas and he was elated. We had several lessons on how to hold it, how to store it, and how to use it and he really learned a respect for knives, which has helped in more ways then one. I obviously haven't let him use it unsupervised, however, with mommy's help he has cut different soft foods while we are meal prepping are preparing dinner. it gives him a huge sense of accomplishment and responsibility and I can see in his face how proud he is that he can use a utensil his cousins and friends can't. I would NOT recommend this for any kid. My son is very calm and precise, if you have an excitable, high energy (i.i typical) toddler, I'd say wait till they're older. For a calmer, more inquisitive kid though, it's provided some great learning experiences, and a chance to feel incredibly independent and capable in a supervised environment.

Great knife!
I bought this knife for my 7 year old daughter to help with in the kitchen. She loves it and I frequently find myself using it too! It cuts everything from hard fruits and veggies to meats and cheeses. We’ve had it over a year with no cuts to our fingers and no noticeable dulling. Would definitely recommend!

I bought this for my own use. It's designed for kids but I think safety is good for adults too. :) RING: The ring on the knife is 18mm inside, fine for most people, but measure your finger if in doubt. FINGER GUARD: The knife definitely feels safer with this. BLADE TIP: The tip of the blade is not pointy but will still cut. HANDLE QUALITY: Okay, not amazing. Has gaps for dirt to go in, as you can see in the official product photos. Not a big problem for me. BLADE: Nice and shiny, feels well made. Very thin, 1.7mm at the top, tapering down to 0.3mm or so. It's sharp, cuts well and can be sharpened easily. It does not quite touch the chopping board surface at the area closest to the handle due to a slightly raised bolster. (see photo below) SIZE: 4" blade and 4" handle. About 70g, which is "featherweight". CONCLUSION: I'm very happy with it considering the price. I paid £27 including shipping for it from another store, and right after I got it the Amazon price went down to £27 total as well. Worth it.
