Not Really Ultimate!
I got this record to help set up my phono cartridge. And, in at least a couple of ways it did what it said -- the first few tracks are really helpful for setting and fine tuning cartridge azimuth.I also expected to use it for setting up cartridge loading -- which involves tuning the cartridge frequency response. It offers what appears to be a great solution -- tracks with apparently equal output across a range of frequencies covering from 20 to 20kHz.So what's wrong with that? It turns out that at least one of the tracks, covering the frequency around 18kHz, is down about 6 to 8 dB relative to all the other tones, leaving a big hole in evaluating frequency response. It took me a while to figure out it was the recording and not my phono cartridge, but a bit of googling revealed this issue has been known for some time! How serious is this? If one recorded frequency (18kHz) is so off, then how can you trust the results from any of the other recorded frequencies?I would still give the record 3 stars except, when I tried to contact the manufacturer about this shortcoming, over a week ago, they have not responded (other than acknowledging my inquiry). Two stars is being generous. So, this record is in many ways useful for setting up a phono cartridge, but I sure don't think it can rightfully claim to be "ultimate!"

Highly recommended if you have the equipment.
This is one of the best records for testing the quality of your setup. Frequency sweeps, pink noise, and channel separation recordings are just a few of the things on this record that really impressed me.Instructions allow for use of an AC voltmeter, and of course if you have access to an oscilloscope, then you can see the difference between two channels and make changes to your tonearm or your preamp as needed.I've been looking for something like this for years, and took a while for me to pull the trigger and purchase this. I do not regret it. I saw a few reviews from prior years suggesting the pressing may have had trouble, but the one I received is on center and flat as my table. One interesting track is the final track on side B with no recording so that you can tap your cabinet and listen for thumping and rumble.Again, if you own or have access to an oscilloscope then this record is extremely intuitive.

Precise Turntable Setup
This is a great record to assist with getting your phono cartridge set up properly.

The most useful
The only test record that has all the signal you need to evaluate turntable and cartridge performance, provided you have the test equipment to make use of it. In conjunction with an oscilloscope and signal generator I was able to perform a number of tests and alignments that weren't possible with other test records. That being said, other records have their uses, such as the Hi-Fi News Test Record. But Ultimate Analogue Test has all the tests that you need, and is the only one still in production that I am aware of the has single channel modulation and and IMD test signal.

Good but you need additional instrumentation to get the most out of it
I use this in conjunction with the Hi Fi News test record. If you don't have that record I would consider buying it first. The most useful test on this record is the VTA adjustment, but you need an IM distortion analyzer to use it properly. If you're willing to work a little harder a PC based spectrum analyzer is the next best thing. The azimuth adjustment test is good also but it's helpful to have an oscilloscope.

When is something too "professional"?
This might be it. Its accuracy of test signals and quality of the pressing is notable. I have no doubt it comes in very handy if you're setting up a record lathe. For the rest of us it's hard to find a use for it. I don't own an intermodulation distortion tester. Even with a scope and computer-based spectrum analyzer, I find the utility of The Ultimate Analogue Test Lp ultimately (heh heh heh) limited. If you're a mastering house doing vinyl, definitely get this and please save us from the unending supply of terrible pressings that flood the market nowadays. But just as much of the problem is poor purity polyvinyl chloride, using too little, or having it at the wrong temperature when flowing a record in the mold.

Great test record, if you have Fosgate Azimuth correction device.
It's a test record. This one is good if you need to check your azimuth. I needed this to correct the crosstalk with my Jolida Foz XT--R. It worked perfectly with that device. I have no idea about the other bands. I have a HiFi New Test Record that I use for Anti-Skate. For my purposes, I need those 2 bands to correctly set my azimuth correction. I have a Rega that doesn't have an adjustment for azimuth. The Foz XT-R solves that problem.
