Nice watch!
The thing that I like most about this watch is how it looks different from all my other Casio digital watches. Besides the basic time, alarm and stopwatch features, it also has a dual time mode for a second time or time zone.

Perfect basic, lightweight digital watch
I grew up with mostly digital watches made by Casio. My tastes gravitated more towards mechanical and solar watches, but they tended to be a lot larger and "chunkier" than was comfortable on my wrist when I got back into doing a lot of cycling, (especially bouncy MTB riding...), and it has been perfect for it's intended purpose for me so far. The Good: Decent quality look at nearly disposable price Reliable time keeper Good water resistance (so far) Very lightweight (almost forget it's even there sometimes when wearing it.) Comfortable (no hair pulling, pinching, and a decent number of clasp holes in the band) Good features Back-light is adequate The Bad: Back-light is not true "Illuminator" type Watch face/Crystal is acrylic, and fairly soft acrylic at that and scratches relatively easy The Neutral: Band is non-standard (ie: not easily interchangeable with other bands as there are no spring pins to hold the band in place. see addl comments in my review below on this issue) "The Band Issue" mentioned by so many reviewers, to me is really not an issue. This watch is not an all day/all night regular wear watch for me, as I am apparently incapable of existing in "one watch Nirvana". I got this watch specifically for it's inexpensive price, lightweight design and comfortable feel, and use it as intended for cycling, gardening and other activities that would be hard enough on more expensive watches that I prefer not to wear them then. The integrated style of band IS a real part of why this band is so comfortable to wear. It's integrated band attaches seamlessly to the body of the watch with small screws rather than the traditional spring pin method. I have yet to wear a digital watch with it's OEM traditional spring pin type band that does not grab some hair or pinch occasionally, or possibly more often than that. (This does not include velcro wrap type straps which don't pinch, but for me always end up smelling like I am wearing eau de-jungle rot on my wrist after a few months of dirt, sweat and general grunge, no matter if I wash them) While this watch has many of the features of some G-Shock watches at less than half the price of the very bottom of the G-Shock line, (I have owned several.) It seems to weigh only a fraction of what they weigh, yet retains sufficient water resistance for my use in wet and muddy situations. I have owned the watch for less than 6 months now, so if my view of the band or the durability changes after longer use I will update this review to reflect accordingly, but for now this simple, inexpensive, decent looking digital watch with a good set of functions and water resistance rating gets 5 stars for being great at what it was built to do. After just a few months of use this watch has clearly proven that I, as the late Douglas Adams stated: "... still think digital watches are a pretty neat idea." when they are done right and kept simple.

I like the simplicity and look of the watch of the ...
I like the simplicity and look of the watch of the watch with easy to read data including, year, month, date, time and the dual time - very convenient when i travel overseas. The stop watch and alarm is simple and yet very effective and the battery lasts for up to ten years. This is one amazing watch and a real steal for $20.00...... I could spend hundreds of dollars plus on a "designer" style watch and never get anything as reliable as this, or with as many features. My only regret with this watch is that the face scratches easily, however for the money - it is one incredible bargain.

Love the watch, don't love the strap
I've had several of this model. Usually lasts a few years, then the strap breaks long before the battery runs out (thus only 4 stars). I use just the time and the dual time. I use my phone for my alarm as it's easier to set. I keep buying this watch because it's inexpensive, durable (the watch only), easy to read and use. When my current one dies, I'll buy it again if it's available. I really wish the strap was more durable.

Simple, comfortable and affordable
I needed a watch for when I go exercising outside, so I don't lose track of time, and decided to go with this Casio. It has been the first digital watch that I get in more than 30 years. So far, so good: it is a basic watch with limited features, but that is exactly what I wanted; the digits are big, easy to read, it has a stopwatch, which I use sometimes to track on how long I have been exercising, it does not require maintenance (10 year battery life!), it is incredibly light and supercomfortable, I barely notice I'm wearing it, very accurate, and price is unbeatable. I used to have Casios as a kid, so wearing it makes me feel a bit nostalgic. I've read that the weak point is the band, and that eventually it will break (and that was always the issue with my Casios as a kid), however, at this price, this is not a concern at all. I only use it for jogging, so if I get 4-5 years out of it I will be more than happy.

Inexpensive yet tough for the price!
I'm hard on my watches... Both from being a 6'2" clumsy wanna backwoodsman from Oklahoma and also having MS. I prefer Casio G-shock or tough solar watches because they're always dependable no matter where I reside over the years. But I'm finding that even my G-shock/tough solar watches, with black dials faces and atomic syncing, can't survive the day to day scratches, blemishes, and riggers that make me start to baby or not even want to wear my Casio's at times. Thus why I've moved to the inexpensive W96H-1BV model for a quarter of the price of all my G-shocks and tough solars. Dependably basic, it's hard to fathom any negatives other than I have a tree truck for a wrist and my W96H-1BV literally is latched to my wrist via the last knotch of the clasp (hey Casio, why not a Big and Tall model?). I did have the silver model that's almost identical to the W96H-1BV almost ten years ago, which seemed to outlast the most expensive dial watch I've owned and was damn close to being a G-shock. Plus side and selling point to this watch is not only is its dependability, but also affordability compared to other Casio watches. The bottom line, yes to this watch!

I can't say enough good things about this watch ! I have owned several of these over the years once I discovered that they actually deliver on the WATER RESISTANT stamp on the back. I had tried other CASIOS, but this was the first model that didn't permanently crap out after a short time riding my motorcycle in the rain. This is also the most accurate watch I have ever owned. Over a three year period the last one remained accurate within a fraction of a second. And the one I bought about six years ago is still sitting on my dresser working just fine. So why have I just bought another when the last two were still working fine? The strap is the weak point. It breaks after two to three years and is about half the price of a new watch so I just spring for a new watch. But these watches are so cheap and reliable, who cares??!?!!? Also a heads up for anyone considering a purchase. The watch is pictured as being a silverish/grayish colour but is in fact black...but to me that's a bonus. If you want a cheap digital that actually IS water resistant AND keeps excellent time, this is the timepiece for you.

This is a digital watch with a few additional handy features (stopwatch, alarm, time offset clock), that is inexpensive enough for me to feel comfortable using in more, er, hazardous situations without worrying about it getting damaged. The display has clear digits, and the backlight (a green LED in the bottom left corner) though not uniform does the job. It feels light and unobtrusive on the wrist, the band has sufficient flex, and the buckle is easy on the underarm. I can't fault its timekeeping precision: from the box I synchronised it to a radio-controlled clock, and over a month later it's still spot on to well under a second.
