2019 Refurbished/new MacBook
I am giving it one star because it did initially work when the product was delivered in July of 2024. Within two months the screen turned black. My daughter was using the product for college and she was away in another state. We did purchase the Asurion protection plan but my daughter was unsure how to use it correctly and as I was not there to help her so she waited another month and a half to get it fixed when she came home for break. During that time the MacBook was unusable. In December I sent the item away to be fixed. The item was returned to her a couple of weeks later at her university. That was the second week of January 2025. She came home for spring break in March and while she was home the screen began to turn black again. She also informed me that the laptop was running very hot. I again contacted Asurion but at this time I was just looking for a refund of my $429. I was told that an item had to have the same defect 4 times because I could seek a refund. I explained that my daughter had major time constraints with this instance and waiting 2/3 weeks for the item to be fixed was not an option. We took it to a nearby repair shop that is sponsored by Asurion where we were given an estimate of $471 which is more than I paid for the product. I was told that I could pay to have it repaired and then be reimbursed but aside from not living that option the screen would take a week to come in and then a few days after that to be fixed. I should also state that the estimate also included fixing the overheating problem. I reached out to Amazon but because it was more than 90 days removed from the purchase they couldn’t do anything for me. Originally, I did have a customer service representative tell me I should not worry that I would be getting a refund but the next day I received an email stating that my claim had been denied. I also reached out to the third party seller and they never responded to my message. I did try Asurion one more time with a copy of the estimate trying to please my case that I just want a refund since the original payment is less than the cost of the repair. This whole process has eaten up hours over several days of speaking with countless representatives. I felt like there was no one that truly understood my problem and how I only wanted to be made whole with this defective product.

Excellent purchase!
This is the first Mac I've ever owned and coming from Windows there was a bit of a learning curve. However, after a few days of use and exploration I'm extremely pleased with the integration with my iPhone and Airpods. The Macbook itself is in basically perfect condition, the only flaws I have found is a scuffed up S key and all keys are a bit worn out on the surface but function normally. Other than those two things, there are no scratches or imperfections to the laptop's exterior. The only cons I have found so far is that I occasionally hit the touch bar when typing and accidentally turn my music up too loud or mute it. Also, at first the battery life was a bit underwhelming but after some tweaking I think I have fixed it (Turning low power mdoe to be on all the time). Today I charged the Macbook to 100% and have been doing light browsing on Chrome and have lost 7%. To be fair, some more battery life could be saved if I used Safari as it is more optimized for Mac's and isn't as big of a resource hog as Chrome is. Edit*: Forgot to add this in my original review but the macbook didn't come in its original box, it was only wrapped in bubble wrap. Luckily, it did not come damaged. Overall, this was a great purchase for me and I have zero regrets.

MacBook purchase
Perfect perfect perfect! Only thing I may add are the letters are little rubbed off but they are stickers you can apply to the actual keyboard to get that covered. Long lasting battery life, no dents or scratches on the hardware. Speakers and sound quality are very good. All buttons on the keyboard work well.

Great value, good support
Quite a good value. Battery cycles was pretty low so battery performance has been great since updating the OS to the latest version. Cosmetically, the machine I received was just about perfect with the exception of some high wear on the left wrist area. This was easily remedied with one of those perfectly matching protective decals which disappear once applied. The only other minor issue was with the USB-C charging cable. Both ends were super tight to plug in and very difficult to remove from both the brick and the MacBook Pro. I emailed the seller and they immediately sent me a replacement, which had the proper amount of resistance. I'd highly recommend buying one of these for a student or as a beater to take on vacation. Great value.

A Powerhouse of Productivity and Elegance: Never had an issue!
I recently upgraded to the Apple MacBook Pro with Touch Bar, featuring the Intel Core i5 processor, 13-inch Retina display, 8GB RAM, and 256GB storage in the sleek Space Gray finish. This laptop has exceeded my expectations in every aspect, making it a worthy investment for both personal and professional use. The first thing that strikes you is the stunning Retina display. The colors are vibrant, and the level of detail is exceptional, providing an immersive visual experience whether you're working on graphic design, watching movies, or just browsing the web. The 13-inch form factor strikes a perfect balance between portability and screen real estate. The Touch Bar is a game-changer. Initially, I was skeptical about its utility, but it quickly became an integral part of my workflow. It adapts to different applications, providing contextual shortcuts and controls that enhance efficiency. It's not just a gimmick; it genuinely streamlines tasks and adds a layer of interactivity that traditional function keys lack. Performance-wise, the Intel Core i5 processor, coupled with 8GB of RAM, handles multitasking with ease. Whether I'm running resource-intensive applications, editing photos, or working on multiple documents simultaneously, the MacBook Pro delivers smooth performance without any lag. The 256GB storage space is ample for my needs, and the high-speed SSD ensures quick boot times and responsive file access. The build quality is, as expected, exceptional. The aluminum unibody design not only looks premium but also ensures durability. The keyboard is comfortable for extended typing sessions, and the large Force Touch trackpad is responsive and accurate. The battery life is impressive, easily lasting a full workday with moderate use. The inclusion of Thunderbolt 3 ports provides versatility for connecting a variety of peripherals, and the audio quality is top-notch, whether you're listening through the speakers or using headphones. While the MacBook Pro with Touch Bar is undoubtedly an investment, the overall experience justifies the price tag. It seamlessly integrates hardware and software, offering a user-friendly and powerful computing experience. If you're in the market for a high-performance laptop that combines style with substance, the Apple MacBook Pro with Touch Bar is an excellent choice.

mac has weird symbols pop up (apple support couldn’t resolve the issue)
This mac runs fine however I did have some issues. First when the box got here it was so destroyed I could literally put my whole arm in the box before I even opened it. Luckily the computer didn’t have any damage when I opened it. I bought this computer for gaming and it works just fine for the game I play however after like 2 minutes of use it starts to sound like a jet engine (I assume it’s trying to cool itself idk?) but it’s really annoying. By the battery life it says “service recommended” so apparently that isn’t apart of the refurbishing just for anyone wondering. Another thing, when I open safari everything is super messed up. specifically with YouTube (a bunch of weird white symbols come on my screen? and all of the search functions are covered by them??) I contacted Apple support and I talked to them for about an hour and a half, and the lady said that she had never seen anything like it before and we couldn’t resolve it. so now I just use Firefox (the problems are only on safari it’s REALLY sus). Like in other reviews my mac also came with a bunch of crumbs and stuff on the keys. Also the battery probably lasts 30 mins before I have to plug it in again. Definitely wouldn’t recommend buying from this company!
