Super simple, great to have in the car at all times

This is a basic test light; connect one end to ground, the other to what you want to test. This is ideal when you want to test a fuse in situ, or for verifying basic conenctivity. E.g. good for tracking down grouding issues iof your car is showing symptoms of odd behaviour. My car is a few years olrd now so I don't need one of those fancy test lights that glow red or green, depending; for more up to date cars that might be the better choice. My purchase was to replace my old test light that has gone missing. It all seems OK with this item, although I had to smooth off one small rough bit on the body. Every DIY motorist toolkit should have a test light.

Used to find electrical breaks in the lines of the rear demister on my car's window. Worked perfectly and dead simple to use. The end of the device is very sharp so be careful and don't lose the protective cover.

Fantastic piece of kit. Saves the dreaded two wire multi meter. As long as you have good ground it perfect.

Brought this to do a hardwire fuse adapted power cable for my front and rear camera for my vehicle. Since had fuse blow and strange warning lights come on. This was a life saver by simply earth it using the crocodile clip and test each fuse one by one until find the blown fuses, working fuses will light up the device and blown will keep it unlit. Remember some fuses may appear blown until ignition turn on and circuit open e.g. full beam etc. Once found pull them out and swapped with relevant fuses at right ampage. Note you need by fuses separately.

OK, obviously. But very short lead. Rachel across battery and maybe to very near fuse box.. But would need to be a lot longer and extended for rear lights or trailers.

I was looking for a 'continuity tester' - a device to test whether a wire in one part of a car is the same wire in another part of the car. A 'continuity tester' has it's own power source - a battery and a bulb, so that when the same wire is connected at both ends, the bulb glows. This device comes without a battery and the instructions make it clear it is meant to be used when the car ignition is turned on, to check whether power is reaching a particular end of a wire. However, theis device can be converted to a continuity tester by adding a small 12v battery - something like an L1028 a 23A12V battery used in self powered burglar alarm movement sensors.
