This is a great budget sewing machine! I wanted to keep my cost below $150 but still get something that I could use for every day projects and this was a hidden gem! It took me a while to find this little guy but it's been such a great little machine! Highly recommended! - As a wife and as a mom of 3 kids, I spend a lot of time shopping for deals on the best products out there for my family. It's important to me that if we're spending our hard earned money that we get a top notch product in return. I often rely on the reviews and opinions of others when contemplating purchasing a new product that I haven't tried before myself. Because of that, any products that I buy (whether on Amazon or from a 3rd party) I always make sure to leave a detailed review of the product to help others when selecting items to purchase, as well. My family tests these products fully before forming a solid opinion and writing a review. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY I bought this machine to work on an ottoman cover; simple stitching, average fabric, nothing fancy. I was able to thread the bobbin ONCE, and could use it for about 10 minutes until the machine changed it's alignment and the needle broke. I thought I was simply having an issue with hook timing, but even after adjusting the timing the thread would get caught in the workings of the bobbin and the thread would snap. I have tried for two months to get this piece of junk to work, meaning it is no longer eligible for return, so I don't even get my money back. I have no idea where all the positive reviews came from, but they must be working some magic I am incapable of accessing. Stay away from this machine, I'll be staying away from Singer all together.

I purchased this Singer factory remanufactured sewing machine in May 2015. I read the reviews. Most were good but some were not. I was a little dubious but the price was right so I purchased it. We have a prime account so it came in two days. I took the time to read the manuals and view the DVD that came with it. I am no stranger to sewing and machines but each one is different so I wanted to know how this one functioned before rushing in to try it. The DVD was very helpful and full of good ideas. I tried the machine when I first got it and was totally impressed with how it functioned. It was easy to use. The stitches all came out like they should and the button hole foot made perfectly sized button holes for the button. I had not known about this feature whereby you place the button in the foot and it makes the buttonhole to fit it. The needle threader works well. Took a few practice tries before I got it right but for me it is a big bonus. If it continues to perform this well I will extremely happy. Already I am very impressed and hopefully I will use most of it's many functions. An update: Since I purchased this I have used it to do some repairs and make a child's skirt. It has performed perfectly. I am still very impressed with this machine.

Replaced my moms 60 year old machine that died last month. She said it has been fairly easy to use compaired to her old unit she has known for so long. Only thing is it makes a odd noise every time it is turned on when the needle moves up and down, but that could just be how this unit starts up as it has not had one glitch or issue yet.

I love this machine. I have this issue now and then with machines where no matter what I do, it refuses to work for me. My old sewing machine ( a Brother) was like this. Worked for everyone but myself with no issues. As soon as I got near it, chaos with bird nesting, needles breaking and general stupidity. My new Singer arrived and I was so excited to discover I could sew without endless issues. I love this machine, works amazingly, I LOVE that the storage is a slide off and not something I have to force, the machine is super easy to thread and get running and I highly recommend it. Needle replacement is awesomely easy if it needs to be done. I also adore the threader on the machine, so easy to use and helps so much for those of us with sight issues. LOVE LOVE LOVE!

I have been using this machine for over a year and a half now and all I can say is for the price it gets the job done. I have had a Kenmore for more than 20 years and the Singer Sew Mate is much easier to use. I have had NO problems with breaking needles or bobbin problems. At one point during the Fall and Winter I was sewing about 30 hours a week on this machine and everything worked great. The selection of stitches is really extensive for the casual sewer, and most are very nice when applied as accents to apparel. Overall, I am extremely pleased with this machine. *If anyone is having problems with the bobbins, I would suggest using only the meal bobbins made for this machine NOT a 'universal' plastic bobbin*

I shouldn't even give it one star as it is crap!! Do not buy this piece of junk. I have had nothing but problems with this machine. It is cheaply made and does not work properly. I can sew for maybe 5 minutes and something happens every time I use it. I tried to return it but they would not take it back (see they don't want it either). They sent me useless info as to how to fix the issues but they continue to happen. I have been sewing for over 50 years and have never had any issue with my machines till this crappy machine. I may as well give it to the thrift store and be out the money I paid even though I have only used it a handful of times.

Amo esta máquina. Me tocó un buen precio, la calidad es buena, trae muchos estilos de puntadas muy bonitos. Hasta ahora no me ha fallado, trae un cd con tutoriales, pero sino, en su canal de YouTube están también. Creo que es para nivel básico y medio, si necesitas un uso más rudo, te convendría más una máquina de coser industrial. Sino, esta es perfecta.

Great machine. Well built and very accurate. It is super easy to thread, even for a guy that's practically blind. And it practically does everything for you. Highly recommended for novices like me to learn and enough features to be useful for a skilled hobbyist. Accurate description and very fast shipping.

Works well, I really enjoyed the fact that signer put out a whole tutorial on this specific machine. It was very helpful! Recommend always doing a test swatch on the fabric to ensure tension and settings will produce the desired affect.

La máquina funciona de maravilla, viene bien empacada y trae todos sus papeles de garantía, es fácil de usar solo hay que leer el instructivo, es un excelente producto en cuanto calidad y precio.

Es muy delicada.. se trata mucho y no puedes coser con la confianza que deseas.. no la recomiendo para aquellos que desean empezar a coser ya que sólo cose telas muy delgada.
