It smells and tastes nothing like truffles.
I absolutely loves truffles and buy them a lot. In all forms. This product is very disappointing. I opened the package smelled them first, no truffle smell, I soaked them in water to rehydrate them, they had truffle no smell, tasted them, did not recognize any truffle taste. It’s all trickery.

WHAT TYPE OF BLACK TRUFFLES ARE THESE AND WHERE DO THEY COME FROM?
All I get as an answer is that they are black truffles and they are sliced and packaged in USA, and are considered organic by USA standards. Why can't you answer basic questions that are important to the consumer?!! If I could get those answers than I would have rated 4 or 5 stars. The truffles are well packaged EXCEPT DESCRIPTION. Truffle slices are clean and depending on the type may not be completely ripe. Dried pieces have an earthy scent. I re-hydrate mushrooms in cold water which prevents leather texture. After hydration, these truffles release a buttery/fruity/earthy weak scent which is pleasant. Taste is weaker than fresh but does add hint of flavor to recipe. My dog also recognizes these as truffles but the taste and scent is different from fresh truffles but maybe that is because I've never had this type of "black truffle" ??!! I wouldn't know as THEY DON'T TELL US WHICH FRICKIN "BLACK TRUFFLE" THIS IS. I would buy again if I don't find another source or better yet, I might just start dehydrating fresh ones myself... AT LEAST I WILL KNOW WHERE THEY CAME FROM AND WHICH TYPE THEY ARE!! If they ever answer those questions than I will know whether or not to raise up from the 3 star. These do not have any hint of "garlic" scent to them that I have smelled with fresh ones. But that might because I have only had a different type of black truffle, but don't know because THEY DON'T TELL US WHICH ONES THESE ARE OR WHERE THEY COME FROM. :)

good for price. Hard to grate up due to small pps but very good flavor. Good intro for truffles.
Good taste. Kinda small pieces harder to work with. pieces are also hard to grate or slice. But I really will say the taste is very nice for this price. Great to start trying in your meals and seasoning.

Not worth the money. Very disappointed in quality
Not what I expected. I followed instructions and they did not rehydrate as well as didn't taste like anything. I purchased several of these and I regret it. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT it is a serious waste of money.

I love Truffles and at the price these are so good!
Sliced to the right thickness to bring out the flavor of the Fungus. My advice is to soak them in water for about half an hour before using them and use the water in your dish.

Chef says dont but
These are not truffles. Haha. As a chef I was skeptical about $15 an ounce even though they are "dried" but after soaking these have absolutely zero flavor. Not upset about $15 but def is not what is advertised

Don’t waste your money into this kind of truffle. Quality is very poor and it’s not chefs grade. Avoid!
