Now my basement TV has become a smart TV. Through my local Internet network I can ...
I purchased the Wireless Keyboard K400 with Built-In Touchpad along with the Xstreamer. Both worked well together.I connected the Xstreamer with the supplied HDMI cable to my TV in my basement which did not have any TV cable (Verizon or DirecTV) attached to it. The audio output (including microphone sound) was then connected to a separate receiver/amplifier via the also supplied cable. Now my basement TV has become a smart TV. Through my local Internet network I can access any websites including Amazon, Netflix, and Asian music/movie sites, etc... The keyboard helps in typing the website URLs, and the touchpad helps in moving the arrow. I can also access my WD Mycloud drive and play any files on it.For Karaoke, this system is more flexible and extensive that a Karaoke DVD player, given the various Karaoke sites available in the Internet, including Youtube. However, I do not use the supplied microphones. I use wireless microphones (GTD Audio-622H 200 Channel UHF Professional). The cons: 1) Response time seems to be a bit slow. 2) The Xstreamer does not play a portable hard drive, although it plays a USB flash drive. It would be nice if an update version would add that capability to accept a portable hard drive as input.

Like it as long as you use a wireless mouse!
The remote controller sucks, so remember to connect this device to a wireless/bluetooth mouse then it will make you fly!I have apple TV box and roku at home, but this is so far the best tv box i have.the first one I get was not so good, the wireless toggle worked awkwardly and the AirPlay did not work even I reset this device. One of the mics broke too...I contacted Bright Point and they shipped another one. The second one works seamlessly! It's basically an Android device with Microphone inputs. you can install a lot of Karaoke apps on this device and enjoy the karaoke freely. You can download these karaoke videos to a usb-connected hard disk through some of the apps or just streamline the videos through some pre-installed apps like youtube.Besides the fancy karaoke function, it just does what the other Android device do. You can install any Android apps through google app store, or some other apps stores or just through usb thumb. watching tv, surfing online, checking email, listening to music, reviewing kitchen recipes...I am so happy that I can install any apps I want because I am not allowed to install apps on my apple tv and just some designated apps on Roku!So far, My family enjoyed it very much~! I am ordering a wireless mouse/keyboard combo so that i can explore more functions on this device!

Amazing value, lots of uses, and a TON of FUN!
I bought this unit, not quite knowing what to expect (based on the description, which if anything kind of undersells the device) after looking at some others online. I was looking for a smart TV box to use with my monitor and Sony HD projector and I'll admit, I chose this one because of the Karaoke functionality.I'm really glad I did! The Karaoke functionality is easily as good as dedicated Karaoke machines (in terms of the sound quality and included microphones) and access to the (many thousands...I don't even KNOW how many) of youtube karaoke songs means you never have to buy any CDs or cartridges with songs on them. It also means that the quality of the songs varies, but that makes things kind of more fun, trying out the different versions that you find. I found myself using the included youtube application, but there are other Android apps that can be used for Karaoke. So, that's the Karaoke function, but what's really cool about this device is that it's a fully functional Android tablet (without the screen) or phone (without the phone and the screen, lol) so you can run all the normal Android apps. It comes with a pretty decent set of apps installed, but you can add anything else you want using the Google Play store, or the APK installer.I'm currently using it as a media player device with my projector, and it's had no problem displaying HD material, and with two USB inputs, I've successfully streamed content from both conventional (2tb) and USB flash drives. There is also an SD card slot, but I've not used that. Both the video and sound quality are very good!I found it easier to control the unit using a USB mouse than with the included remote especially when you need to use the on-screen keyboard....I'm thinking about getting a wireless mouse to control it from my (watching) position.Actually, I will be ordering another unit to just use for web browsing and email since the unit makes no noise and has to use a ton less power than my old-ish Dell Pentium unit that I currently use.Great device, and especially amazing given the price!

The unit works very well overall and its good value for the money
The unit works very well overall and its good value for the money. I wish that the mic's were better quality though as one broke in the first month. Overall it performs as it should and its tons of funBe careful with the set-up as the audio is analog and you will need to run the audio separately using the RCA outputs as it doesn't pass digitally through the HDMI cable. If possible, run the HDMI input directly to one of the TV inputs and the audio directly to a stereo receiver.

satisfied customer
I bought for group meetings. Needs external speakers, because will not work with the TV speakers. I used some i had for my computer. Hot spot on phone synchronized well with product for WiFi. You can't talk to a person for customer service, but email was responded to pretty quickly. Pretty easy to set up. A couple of dry runs are needed. Set up before event. I am 51 year old woman and I was able to figure out on my own.
