Fantastic Design!!
I read the reviews and decided to get this prior to bunionectomy. As others pointed out, it's important to walk slowly with the shoe out in front to avoid tripping. I did very well with this shoe and never felt pain walking in it. Once the dressing came off, I put a foam pad under the ball of foot to keep the pressure off the sesamoid bone and avoid pain. I used it for a month and it held up great. I highly recommend it.

Post op bunionectomy both sides same foot
I was allowed weight bearing six weeks post surgery. I started having immense pain in the toe area like someone driving a nail through my foot. I found this shoe on Amazon and ordered it. Afterward I asked my podiatrist about it and he advised against this type of shoe saying he felt they were a fall risk. I had already fallen 4 times using the shoe they gave me after my surgery. I got this new shoe and love it. You do need to get used to walking it it but it actually feels very stable to me. It really takes the stress off of my toes. I feel it grips the floor better also.

Functional and durable aid while you're recovering
I've been wearing this shoe on a daily basis for about six weeks. It's held up very well with no visible wear or damage. The shoe is very adjustable using the velcro straps. I like that the main strap over the foot can be completely removed and replaced so that a wide range of swelling can be addressed. The only negative is that the sole is a hard plastic. Great for low wear, but somewhat slippery on hard surfaces. Given my post-surgery walking speed, this isn't a big issue.

Junk. Bad design
Total junk. The angle of the sole rocks your heel too low so it forces you to pull the front of your foot up--uncomfortable. Then the pivot point in the sole is too far forward causing difficulty walking and as you stride forward the boot pivots at a place on the foot that causes pressure on the part of the foot that this boot is supposed to protect. Very awkward for walking. Straps require both hands to get the boot on--inconvenient. I shaved off 1/3 of the front of the 'heel' of the sole to change that backward angle and too far forward pivot point. Better but.... Really junk design.

Casted
It keeps the pressure down on the toe and ball area of my foot.Im prone to Gout,so this really helps revive the pain of walking. The only issue is getting the correct thickness shoe on the other foot as to not mess up my gate

Well priced!!
I had an amputation of my big toe and the healing went rather slow. I had to have another surgery on my foot and my podiatrist put more emphasis on keeping off the foot. I was using the boot the hospital gave me up until that point. After the 2nd surgery I purchased this boot. I wish I would of done so sooner. The boot itself is a pain in the ass to walk in, but that is literally the point of it! Since I was unsure myself of how to walk in it here are some tips:1) Wear it all the time. Literally all the time. When you're at home, watching TV, playing on the computer, cooking, in the office, going to the bathroom. WEAR IT ALL THE TIME. The boot doesn't work if you're not wearing it.2) Do not roll off the edge of the boot. If the lifted front end of the boot tips forward you've gone too far.3) Make sure the front is nice and snug around your foot. The front pad comes off completely so you can really get a good fit.4) Take your time. The point of this boot is to prevent you from putting weight on the front of the foot. You will be taking half steps until you are healed. Be patient and embrace it.Really wish I would of bought this a long time ago as Ive noticed quite a difference in my healing since getting it. Hope everyone reading heals quickly!!

Good shoe for post surgery
Honestly, who wants to wear this? It’s not easy to walk in and you’re definitely not going anywhere in a hurry. The shoe works well. My only complaint is the Velcro wears out a bit and i wish there was more attachment on the strap. I’ve been using this off and on for many months and it’s still effective.
