will connect once, then never disconnect again
The isolator shows 0.5 Volts more than the actual voltage meassured on the batteries. This doesn't look like a big thing, but it is:once installed, the isolator will have the batteries seperated and will connect them once the engine runs (within a few seconds). You can clearlh tell as well by the klicking of the relay.Once you switch off the engine, it is supposed to disconnect the batteries, but mine never does. The cut-off voltage is set by manufacturer to 12.8 volts.(My first battery shows this voltage when alternator isn't running). It could be that my first battery for some reason has a slightly higher voltage than normal (f.e. 12.9V), which prevents the relay from cutting off the connection, or the problem is that the built-in voltmeters just measure the wrong voltage (which is also displayed on the unit, 0.5 volts too much) and therefore never cuts off.If i manually switch off the isolator unit by disconnecting the ground for some seconds, it disconnects the 2 batteries though (until the engine is started again).I bought this unit half a year ago, before i had time to install it, so there is nooi sopport from manufacturer or replacement.let's see if the seller eventually is helpfull.there is also no way to adjust the cutoff voltage (f.e. to 13.0 volts).BTW: one review stated that the relay will be active for 10 minutes after the engine is off, but mine stayes connected always,...bottom line:If you get this unit and the voltage reading displayed is too far off, it wont work correctly (meaning it's useless) und you should check the function closely.

Good product
I’m dropping my review from 5 stars down to 3 stars for the simple reason that the installation instructions are so vague. The unit seems to work great, but the instructions aren’t clear, and don’t clearly state if the button is supposed to be pushed in or out during normal operation. By doing my own research, it seems the button is not supposed to be pushed in during normal operation. The isolator works great, easy to install, great value. The photo is from my 2006 Silverado with the aux. battery. The only issue I have with this isolator is that the instructions are vague and in broken English...most likely because it’s made in China, or somewhere in Asia. It’s a good product, but you may need to Google wire diagram for battery isolator. They all wire up pretty much the same. The 2nd photo shows 4ga power cable coming from the isolator going through a 150amp fuse (my alternator is a 145amp, so no need for a larger 200amp as some recommend), from the fuse I connected it to where the positive + cable from the main battery connects to the alternator cable. Each car may be different, but this is the setup for a Chevy Silverado. The instructions show connecting + & - cables directly to the main battery’s posts. Not necessary.

It works and lasts
Easy enought to install. Directions where good. Does not look like it would hold up to any harsh environment like getting wet. But live in Wisconsin so if it survives the winter I am going to be impressed.

REVISED..even with lack of documentation. Not a bad product
The utter lack of documentation on the specs or installation of this product is staggering. It came in a plain white box...that’s it. That being said after I had some questions answered by the seller, I decided to change my review. I didn’t wire the isolator negative lead to both the negative post of the main and house batteries. I grounded it to the frame as with other isolation relays. It is working fine. I used #2 welding cable to connect the positive posts. The emergency button (IE. jump start switch) has come in handy twice so far. I forgot to shut off my headlights after parking for a nap. Woke up to a dead main battery. The push of a button and van started up no problem. So in conclusion. Not a bad product and they did say they were going to add a booklet with them now.

Unit clicks too much
I installed this unit with an almost new car battery and a marine battery that checked out as good. This replaced an older cheaper unit that had apparently gone bad. Now my camper van refrigerator works but this unit makes an audible click every 7 seconds. Another guy noted in his question that his unit clicked ever 4-5 seconds. Based on other reviews, this should only click on once when the car starts and once again when the car is turned off. I like the product as it has a button to emergency start your car using the remote battery. So I will be returning this one and ordering another in the expectation that this was just a defective unit.
