GEAR AID Revivex Suede Hiking and Work Boot Cleaner and Conditioning Kit for Waterproofing Breathable Gore-Tex Footwear

This kit is great and was exactly what I needed. I live in the northeast and wear suede running shoes most of the time other than when it is really down pouring or a heavy snowstorm. Of course the suede running shoes were not meant to withstand either. So I investigated and read many great customer and professional reviews on Gear Aid ReviveX and got this kit. My suede running shoes are in a light grey. I ordered a new pair to start fresh, followed the directions precisely and put on 2 coats of the water proofing spray. After they dried following the second coat I used the eraser and brush to bring the suede back to its soft plush look and feel. The spray did make the suede slightly darker but certainly not where it was a problem and there was no staining and the color remained constant on each shoe and they looked great. More importantly right away I could feel a certain heavier quality to the suede in a good way that gave me hope I would get the effect I wanted. The test happened pretty quickly and we had 2 days of pouring rain and then a snow/ice storm and I wore my shoes in each. With both they got someone wet or got ice and other debris on them. I was amazed how with the rain they simply dried on their own, any spotting from the raindrops disappeared and I didn't even need to use the brush or eraser to bring the suede back to life. In the snow/ice storm it was as if anything that hit the shoes pretty much bounced off and the water proofing had done its job. I am thrilled for now I can wear my desired grey suede running shoes in all sorts of weather. I will only not wear them in a heavy snow storm where I would be walking thru mounds of snow and that is only because the running shoes weren't made for that. The kit came professionally packed with everything brand new. I also believe that after spraying these shoes a healthy two times for protection there is enough spray to do the same with one more pair of shoes which is good in my eyes. I have had no need for the boot cleaner yet which also says a lot. My only thing would be that the spray did slightly darken the suede if that is a concern for you but otherwise ReviveX has now allowed me to get even more uses from my running shoes and the water proofing has been a huge success. Great product and a great kit with everything you need for care of your suede or fabric shoes.

I didn’t have high hopes for this product, but after some serious elbow grease and some patience, I was able to repair my timberlands and Columbia boots I’ve had for over 10 years! They both shine like new, and the 25$ is worth the work.

I think this product did a nice job of cleaning the nubuck leather, but I am not real sure how good a job it did with protecting the leather. Attached are 3 photos that show the shoes through the cleaning process. The 1st two photos show an untouched shoe on the left vs the first two stages of treatment on the right. The final photo shows both shoes after all three steps of treatment. I had to look up what a new shoe looks like to confirm this finished look is pretty close to the original look. So, the cleaning job worked pretty well minus a few dark spots that wouldn’t come out, even after multiple cleanings. Regarding protection and water proofing, the leather doesn’t feel supple like I was expecting. I really expected the product to moisturize the leather and make it feel soft again…as well as protect it from future damage. It does not feel softened at all. I think it water proofed the shoe pretty well. I can pour water into the shoe and see beads form. The leather does darken indicating some water was sinking in, but it dries much faster than when I wet them before. So, bottom line, I am reasonably pleased with this product, but will likely try a different brand the next time around.

I bought this Nubuck and Fabric Boot and Shoe Care Kit on faith. The Amazon reviews were mostly positive but I wasn't certain that I would have the same results as everyone else. I own a pair of light-colored Merrell Mocs. Over the past few years, they have become terribly stained. I uploaded a landscape photo of the dirty shoes for you to see how bad they were. So, I bought this kit not expecting the results I got. I didn't even follow instructions exactly as I didn't have a spray water bottle to wet my shoes. Instead, I started with a wet washcloth and then just doused the entire shoe in water and used an ample amount of the boot cleaner and a scrubber pad, gently working at each of the stains. By the time I was done the entire shoe was covered in lather. I just washed them off under the sink and put them out to dry in the hot sun. Two hours later, I looked at the Mocs and I couldn't believe it was the same shoe. It looked brand new! And, you really need to look at the second portrait photo (labeled AFTER) that shows the result. I mean, all those stains are completely gone. This kit is incredible. It has a nice firm brush to not only get initial dirt off of the shoes prior to cleaning but also "fluff" them up afterward. I also like the fact there is a water repellent spray included, though it goes pretty fast. I would estimate you would only be able to protect about three pairs of shoes with the amount provided but that's good enough. The results I got were amazing. Please look at the photos and see for yourself. And, I wasn't confident about the way I was cleaning this, so if I can end up with these amazing results so can you!

It wasn't as easy as I thought as you will have to put some time and effort into it. But after an hour and thirty minutes I was pretty satisfied with the result! The water repellent does seem to darken the nubuck just a little. I am satisfied with the product overall! A third of what Timberlands kit costs and it does the same!

Did a great job cleaning my boots. My boots were way overdue for a cleaning so my expectations weren't high when I started. It took two goes with the liquid soap but I did manage to get most of the stains out. The eraser that comes in the kit doesn't really work and it seems like it's just a regular rubber eraser. Be warned: it will make the dye run in black boots. I had to do two coats of the water proofing stuff to get the level of waterproofing shown in the picture where the water beads up and rolls right off. That said, I would definitely buy this kit again. It has everything you need.

Not very useful. The proofing did not work for me and the cleaner made very little difference. Definitely not worth the high cost. Buy another product.

I am really happy with my purchase. It's works as it stated. Projected my shoes from salt nd snow.
