Oh Charles
Charles melts my heart ❤️ watching him evolve through the series was a win!! I'm glad i got to see the follow through for his character and his work with the romance as much as he droned on about it throughout the series. He handled it with skill ;) ya know "magical" skill and then the result was fantastic.

The series comes full circle
4.5 starsSo sad to see this series come to an end. What can you say about the man child that is Charles. A man in his mid to late 30's who acts like he is 16. Sounds about right, right?!?! He loves sex, he loves Kink, and he loves females. Nothing is wrong with that, at least until you are bored with it all, and even glitter bombs can't make it worth while.4.5 starsSo sad to see this series come to an end. What can you say about the man child that is Charles. Nothing is wrong with that, at least until you are bored with it all, and even glitter bombs can't make it worth while.Ann, the feisty kitten, well Cougar, She just wants to find that happy ending that everyone she cares about seems to have found. She's tired of waking up alone in her bed, but she isn't going to change her standards and what she wants in a mate. So she is just going to get drunk and screw.. Just one night of letting her inhibitions slide wont change anything. or will it?Fighting what he feels for Ann and what he feels is natural for his kind, Charles and Ann have to find a way to make it work together. And while they do that, someone thinks its a good idea to get shifters stoned out of their gorge and capture them to experiment on them. and Ann is their latest victim. Admitting to himself how he feels about her, this just became a whole new ball game for Charles, and he is pissed.

Who Wouldn’t Love a Charles?
Charles is so lovable in his uncomplicated, straightforward, honest view that he was made to enjoy the ladies..as many as possible and as frequently as possible...until Ann.This is a feel good story with two of my favorite characters of this series. Charles is just funny, adorable with his passion for knitting ugly scarves, hats and blankets, no apologies for being himself, his adoration of children so sweet and he’s just a very hot guy with his fighting and magical skills. Ann is a lioness shifter and they have been friends and teasing each other since the beginning of this series so to finally see them “find” each other is a deeply satisfying end to the series.I would have added another star but the scene of attacking the secret lab was not anywhere near as complex as other fighting/attack scenes in previous books and that would have been perfect for more plot twists. I enjoyed the story and I’ll bet every woman wishes she had a Charles in her life! Ahhh...such is romantic fantasy lol.

Loved this one best I think
Oh if only the world Keene creates were real..... sigh.... except,of course evil, nasty, greedy scientists and big pharma. I know good men are out there but oh so hard to find!

Not as good as the others in series
The book is good but it just isn't as good as the others in the series. There isn't as much action, a couple guys get shot and that is about the extent of the fighting, and even the interaction between Charles and Ann goes from 'just sex' on Charles' part to 'marry me' as if a literal switch was flipped. Not doubting his feelings, it just doesn't give the reader much to....read. They have one date. ONE! And even that one ends with the marriage proposal that she accepts and then the book ends. Like I said, very short without much content.

So much more Heartfelt and Frightening
I really hope this isn't the last book to Sasha's series D:This ranks as a 4.5 for me. The plot was pretty awesome with shifters going missing in a crazy scientist lab, but if that's the main point, the ending wasn't as satisfying as it could've been. I wanted to see those crazy whackos punished for what they did. However, I'm glad it was all about Charles and Ann because they're one of my favorite adorable couples.Book eight was definitely more heartfelt and frightening via Charles. He was a BEAST and definitely reminded me just how inhuman and predator his kind really are. Unlike the last installment, where I hesitated a bit because I think I didn't wanna see my crush mated away just yet (XD) I was all for Charles finally getting his big boy balls and hooking up with Ann. They had great chemistry that I already invested five books in, so seeing their happy ever after was extremely satisfying.A few goodies were left out that the other books got (boo!) like a peek into the future and seeing more kids. *sighs* Which is why I hope to God this doesn't end anytime soon. XDI recommend this series because of how this author writes her stories so well, sucking you in and blending a culture of violence with fierce determination, primal needs of the sexuals, outrageous hilarity, and fun (scary) battle scenes. Love it or hate it, you're missing out.

Love this series!
Finally we get to see Charles and Ann’s story. The shifters need a little help investigating some recent disappearances. With Ann volunteering to go and check it out, the Boss wisely decides that Charles would be the best option to go with her. Well, him and Paulie but it wouldn’t be the same kind of story if Paulie had been chosen. *winks*Charles is forced to grow up in this novella. With the very real chance that he could lose Ann, he has to face his feelings for her and contemplate a future he’s never considered before. Ann has waited for a chance with Charles, but knows he’s never going to settle down. When fear, a blood link and an uncertain future collide, both their fates are set to change.Read it. I promise you’ll love it. This series is still one of my favourite go to reads when I’m in the mood to relive some of my favourite adventures. Hopefully it will be yours to.

A Totally UNMISSABLE Series Finale!!! 💙💕
I absolutely LOVE Charles. I think I knew I always would as he's been so lovable throughout the whole Series. I would've been hard pressed to dislike him now!!Due to shifters going missing in the mountains Tim approaches The Boss for aid. Ann has already volunteered for the mission & they'd like a member of the Watch to assist so she's got the protection of magic. Charles is paired with her & that's what the main story in set around, the two of them living & working together to try & figure out what's happening to the Shifters missing in the mountains!! Of course this is a Darkness Series Book so it's never quite that straightforward 😊This book was fast paced, full of laughs, love & showed some sides to Charles that we may have suspected but never knew for sure he had. He was deeper, darker & fiercely emotional over certain things & people 😍 Ann has held on to a secret from us all, It's a scrumptious one too!! 😉 She is a much deeper character than has been shown before now too. They're both quick to hide behind humour!!!This series is an absolute MUST read for any paranormal fan out there. It's truly different, the characters are endearing each in their own ways & each book grabs you & holds your interest from start to finish.I highly recommend The Darkness Series, it starts with 'INTO THE DARKNESS' which is FREE to download on Amazon, bargain 👍😊All credit goes to K.F Breene for giving us an AMAZING end to the Darkness Series!!'Charles' was EVERYTHING I hoped it would be & more!!💕 Funny, sensitive, mysterious, a little dark & very HOT!!! We got a wonderful goodbye to our friends told in dual POV's by Charles & Ann.**(Even though Jameson has since been released I still view this as the final book of the series, Jameson is a short seasonal story which is a wonderful read but it's more of a thank you to fans, in my opinion, than a 'true' book 9!!)**Debbie, 1970, UK

Now having read his book I have to to say I think I love him all the more
It's the end of the series Bro!Charles has been with us since the very beginning of this series and has always been my fave! Now having read his book I have to to say I think I love him all the more!I adore Ann and have loved the dynamic of their relationship since she first arrived in the books, we all knew they should be together and when we found out that Ann and Tim had hooked up in a previous book I was heartbroken for Charles and Ann because they are made for each other. They have that fantastic balance of friendship and love, the attraction has always been glaringly obvious but a certain someone just needed to realise it was more than just lust. The sarcasm and banter between these two and the other characters literally has you laughing out loud. You can always expect toe curling love scenes from this series and Charles didn't disappoint (in fact I don't think Charles is capable of causing disappointment) And of course The Watch get to kick some bad guy ass which is always entertaining.I really have had fun with this series and am so sad to see it end, but it's left me with a warm fuzzy feeling, I certainly wouldn't have felt this content if it had ended without a Charles book.I do wonder if there is room for a few stories from K. F. Breene from the shifter camp, that could be fun to explore!

Helloooo Charles 😘😘
First of all as a massive fan of this series I can't come to terms with this being the final book... I want more please! I'm not fussy about this at all I would read it from any of the characters pov's although sasha and Stefan are my favs 👏 secondly I am giving this whole series not just this book a 5 star although this book deserves the 5 stars!! I love Charles he's such a softie with his knitting and his lovable nature 💜 you also get to see his possessive alpha male protective side more in this book which I thought was great! The relationship between Ann and Charles is quirky, fun, feisty, passionate and capturing. I loved all of the darkness books I love the characters the amazing story lines. I feel like I've lived with them its been an amazing ride I really hope the author continues this! You have done an amazing job kf breene with this series it is 100% my favourite. I will remain on a major book come down I shall just have to start from the beginning and re read the whole series 😁
