I purchased this instead of the pricier version advertised elsewhere, since it was for a young child, and I am quite pleased. This is the perfect size for a child. It is a nice looking, well made piece--no damage from being sat upon by a four year old. My 2 year old grandson dearly loved it, and the tones sound fabulous. The carrying case is a nice plus, as well. I am guessing the mallets will not last long since I had to find them numerous times before he left our house, but they should be able to be replaced easily.

You know, playing musical instruments is pretty challenging. I can say this with confidence as someone who tried to learn the guitar but ended up with nothing to show for it. But it turns out there are instruments so simple that all you need to do is tap on them, and they produce pleasant sounds. It doesn’t even matter much in what order you play since the notes are arranged harmoniously. I’m talking about a steel tongue drum with petals. The instrument is made of high-quality metal and coated with a beautiful navy blue finish. Its 11 petals allow you to produce a variety of sounds. Keep in mind that its diameter is only six inches, so playing it with your hands might be a bit tricky. That’s why the manufacturer includes drumsticks in the set—and honestly, I find this very convenient. There’s also a songbook included, though I haven’t tried it yet. I plan to, and it seems like a nice addition. Kudos to the manufacturer for thinking of everything. These kinds of drums are often used in music therapy, yoga, hypnotherapy, or just for fun. I think this drum would also be great for kids since you don’t need any special skills to make it sound good. You simply pick it up and start playing. Probably the only downside I’d like to mention is that the stickers with note numbers on the petals started peeling off even before I began using the instrument. I also couldn’t help but notice that these stickers look exactly like the ones you find on furniture parts you buy on Amazon. Coincidence? Overall, I think this drum is a successful combination of quality, convenience, and affordability. If you’re looking for something to help you relax, reflect, or meditate, this drum is a great choice.

It has truly beautiful sounds! Very relaxing to just tap on the various notes. The sounds remind me of a Hugh end wind chime. Size is nice. It was a great purchase.

Pros: Its a really cute size! The color is very nice! The sound is fair, very pleasant. The drum sticks feel like a good weight. Cons: The note markings, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and i are all just shiny stickers and are coming off rather easily. I thought they may of been carved into the drum tongues but they aren't. These do not affect the sound or performance of the drum but if you lose them it can be hard to play any songs by accordance to the song book.

My daughter loved it for her Christmas present, it was honestly larger scale than I thought! Typically, I just expect items to be smaller. She's a new becoming teen so the soothing sounds are honestly nice! It is also quite loud it almost seems like an electric instrument. Overall a nice and worth the purchase item!

I bought it for my grandson for Xmas , I m looking forward to playing together the songs in the booklet like twinkle twinkle little star . It sounds heavenly! Brings out the little kid in me. I’m sure we will have fun time on Xmas day.

I got this for myself and for my 15 week old daughter. We both love playing with it! The sound is beautiful and really calming. Even a non-musician like me can play tunes on it, but it’s also beautiful to just play random notes.

I expected a cleaner sound, but this is my first experience with tongue drums, so it might be as it’s supposed to be. Just gave this to my son for his birthday and now I want one for myself, a bigger one with more notes. Last night I gave it a try before wrapping it. It has been a very hard week and I was quite anxious. After playing with it for a while I felt so much better. This morning my son opened his present and he started making sounds happily right away. He is turning four; I have to be present and involved while he is using it to share the fun and to make sure he and the drum are both safe 😅 I see this item becoming part of our lives. Happy with the purchase.
