Praise Works

Merlin Carothers has again written persuasively about the experiences of himself and others who praise God no matter what the circumstances. Pastor Carothers offers letters or excerpts of letters from many people. Each letter describes a troubling personal situation. The letters ask questions or describe troubles and the result of praising God for whatever one's or another's circumstances. Following the letters, Pastor Carothers offers brief answers and/or comments. In the 161 pages of my paperback copy published in 1973, I estimate more than 100 letters or letter excerpts and comments, through which Pastor Carothers gives examples and clarifies his understanding of God's numerous Biblically reported directions to seek Him and to Praise Him or Thank Him for ALL of one's circumstances, because difficult circumstances bring us closer to Him. Many reported results seem miraculous in the speed and accuracy of the responses.I recommend the book as well as others by Pastor Carothers for those facing crises. Many people reportedly tried the approach to connecting with God by Praising Him because nothing else had worked despite their diligent efforts, sometimes for decades. Many of them would affirm that Praise Works!

The writer has a very positive towards suffering; how we can turn it around for our good and God's glory.

This is a book that everyone should read. It changes lives. I loved that the sender included a personal note. I am very familiar with the Wild Goose Series and Father Dave Pavonka. Nice to know that we are on the same page spiritually.I purchased the book for the message that I knew was within.

My 50 year old son was in Junior High when I first read this book. This one is a replacement for that copy. When I first began to praise God because I knew HE was in charge it changed everything in my life, I saw changes in those around me. God lead me to answers to problems that seemed unanswerable. God wants our praise and He greatly rewards it, not in "things" but in answers and in bringing the right person into our lives at the right time.

I read this years ago and it changed my life! I've given this book to others and then, I bought it again for myself and enjoyed reading it very much. It has stood the test of time in my estimation! I highly recommend this book!
