Works just fine
I have had this cable for more than a year now and it still works fine. Build seemed higher quality than a cheap cable I tried. Yes its a bit more expensive than some of the other brands but my hopes were, it would be reliable and it seems to be just that. Very happy with the cable and would buy again.

Works perfectly as it should
I was reluctant to pay the price for a cable but after buying a much cheaper highly rated USB cable that failed to work I ended up purchasing this one I have no regrets, it connects to my D810 with my tethering software instantly. This is why all professional photophers use this brand. If I need a longer reach I can attach another cable like this to get 32 ft reach for my bird photography.

Not worth it
Stopped working completely after a couple weeks. It acted like plugging in a non active usb 3 cable that is too long. Completely ruined an important shoot because of how it was acting up. I recommend going with a company that creates their own cables not just slap their logo on it. No response from tether tools warranty support. For a fifty dollar cable one would expect more.

A little difficult to assemble, but works well once everything inside is positioned just right
This definitely keeps the tether cable USB connector and the tether extension locked tightly together. It also seems to be relatively splash proof, but it certainly is not water proof and not designed to be. Everything inside has to be perfectly positioned for it to fit together, though, and I had difficulty getting it right on the first attempt, but succeeded on the second. This will be used for photo shoots in remote park locations where a longer tether cable is beneficial. I think I'm going to keep the tether cable and its extension together and dedicated for this field use as I have others to use in my studio where I don't need this connector on them.
