I was about to throw out my Dyson because it would only work for about 15-30 seconds and stop. It was only about a year old when the battery started to fail and it would pulse on and off, everything I could tell was that it needed to be serviced from what I read online. I meticulously cleaned it and it still did not work. I did not want to spend $130-$150 for a true Dyson battery so I decided to give this a try. It took about 2 minutes to swap it out and it charged up just fine on the wall charger that the vacuum came with originally. Side by side they are more or less identical and they managed to reverse engineer this thing very well. I am not buying into the claim that it has more ampacity than the factory battery, they are the same size and weight, it would take more battery cells to accomplish that feat. It does however, last just as long as the factory battery when it was new. I have used it for a couple of months now and I am still amazed how long it lasts and I am happy that it brought new life to my Dyson that was destined for the landfill but remains part if the family.

I've been using this for a couple of months now in my Dyson V8 Absolute (listed as a compatible model) and here are my two main takeaways: 1) The battery never charges past 2 lights on the charge indicator no matter how long I leave it charging. What is more, the battery's lowest indicator stays lit when there isn't enough power to operate the vacuum. 2) The battery does not install correctly. The screw that installs at the top of the handle does not align with the battery. 3) It does not hold a charge any longer than the original battery. I live in a smallish, 800 sq ft apartment with about 500 sq ft carpeted and this battery cannot power the vacuum long enough to clean that entire carpeted space. This is no different than the battery that came with the vacuum. Maybe if the battery was capable of fully charging I could vacuum my whole apartment in one go, but this does not happen so I have no way of knowing. I would not recommend this battery to someone looking to get more vacuum time from their machine.

Pros: Super Easy to install, long lasting battery, good bang for your buck instead of having to replace an entire vacuum. Cons: a little more expensive than the other third party replacements, but it had good power to the battery and life Easily fit into our Dyson V8 Highly recommend to anyone having a Dyson vacuum that still works, but battery life dies too quickly

I bought this battery in December 2024 and 6 months later it’s dead. The blue charging light won’t come on. It stays a blinking red. I’ve even replaced the charger cord, that didn’t fix it, so I know it’s the battery. It’s a faulty, so-called “new” battery. I’m so annoyed. This company should stop selling batteries. Now I want a refund but there’s no clear cut way to get one. Double annoyance. Check.

Dyson's are stupid expensive, so when my V8 Animal just died, which sounds even sadder than it is, I was pretty bummed. Fortunately, the Dyson website has diagnostic procedures to follow to figure out why your vacuum won't take a charge anymore. Mine turned out to be a a dead battery, which Dyson was happy to charge me $149 to replace. Thankfully, this third party replacement was available. I had forgotten how long the charge was supposed to last and how powerful the vacuum was supposed to be! Now it's back to like new. The installation should have been a breeze, since it's only three screws to remove. Unfortunately, Dyson puts those tiny screws in with some kind of jackhammer robot or something, so they're really hard to remove. But I did it! I strongly recommend keeping the old battery, since the label on it contains your vacuum's original serial number and other info.

Seemed like a great purchase at first and was easy to install. Provided a good 30 minutes of run time from a full charge, which seemed better than I remember the OEM battery doing when new. However, we only use the Dyson about once a week and the battery failed after only 5 charging cycles and now just has a red light when we try to charge it. Sadly outside of the 30 day 'warranty' period, so it's just scrap now. Would definitely not recommend this product and suggest it's probably better to buy original parts rather than take a chance with the cheaper import options like this one.

work's okay, but I'm not convinced that this battery is the size and capacity that it is advertised to be. Replaced the OEM battery which was much lower capacity but this one does not seem to last any longer between charges.

My Dyson V8 OEM battery does not hold charge so it works for less 10 minutes each time. This aftermarket battery is a perfect replacement. There is no color difference, easy to install. The vacuum now works for 40min at max power. I cannot tell if it is better than OEM (when it is new) but defibitelu saved me another few hundred bucks to get a new vacuum.
