It does the job but i t was replacing a bent hitch bar which had a wire that ensured it never fell off got lost. This product would be perfect if there was something which prevented the pin from being lost like a long vinyl coated cable which secures clip to handle. A bit like the product TRAILER HITCH PIN FOR 3X4 FOLD-AWAY HINGE KITS. #HDPB340301-PIN

Great pin, over a year of use and it’s still as solid and untouched by weather. Trailer is outside, unprotected from elements. Shows no deterioration. Just be sure to buy the right size, a thinner one rattles in the trailer. Minor annoyance, but definitely buy the right size for your application.

The cotter pun aligns with the handle so I don’t have to get my head down on the ground to where the pin lines up. Works great, plenty strong.
