Pleasantly surprised!
I built a 100 gal (filled to approx 80 gal) DYI Cold Plunge and after doing my research to find the most effective & efficient way to keep the water clear & most importantly- clean, I settled on the Intex 350 GPH filter. I found this one on Amazon Warehouse for only $18!! It comes with everything needed including a filter (which can be washed and reused if not too dirty) but on warehouse you can find replacements all the time for only a few $. Once set up and you all the connections are properly sealed and the air is out of the lines, it runs beautifully. I run it for only two hours overnight using the “timer”. Keep in kind you may need to run it a bit longer upon initial set up and depending on how often you use your Plunge. To be transparent - my DYI turned out so well my son wants to replicate my set up (everything including the tub cost me no more than $160). Amazon a warehouse had a 350 gph Intext filter for $23 but they also had several Intex 1,000 gph for $26, so I am upgrading but only because I found a deal, my current filter works beautifully - which I’m keeping as a back up. I highly recommend the Intex products for your DYI cold plunge / spa - best of luck!

Great filter and read me for troubleshooting.
I love this filter. I have a pool that does not have holes for the hoses to fit in. Instead I used some plastic weights that you can make from plastic bottles filled with sand and I glued the lids on and then I tied the bottles onto the bottles with strong string. BE PATIENT WHEN FIRST STARTING THE FILTER. YOU NEED TO PRIME THE PUMP. I USED MY GARDEN HOSE AND FILLED IT THAT WAY. THEN I PUT THE FILTER HOSE IN THE POOL AND MADE SURE THERE WAS WATER GOING IN THE FILTER HOSE. I TOOK THE GARDEN HOSE OUT OF THE FILTER HOSE AND MADE SURE THAT THE POOL WATER WAS GOING INTO THE FILTER HOSE. THIS IS A GOOD FILTER. IT WILL TAKE SOME TIME TO MAKE THE POOL HOSES TO FILL FULLY RIGHT AWAY. IT NEEDS TO WORK THE AIR OUT COMPLETELY. THIS WILL TAKE TIME AND JUST BE PATIENT. JUST MAKE SURE THERE IS WATER GOING THROUGH THE FILTER. I only wrote the instructions that helped me out in capital letters to help read the directions that had helped me get my filter going. I know how frustrating things maybe if it doesn't happen right away. Just make sure there is water going through the filter at all times. My pool is 160 gallons and is perfect for it and I would definitely buy the filter again. I have it plugged into a large extension cord that is made for outside use only. I have the cord plugged into an outside outlet. I noticed that when I plugged in the cord the filter did not go on. I had to reset the plug because the night before it rained and since it has a water saftey mode on the plug I just pressed the reset button on the cord.

It's tiny and $$$ however it seems to work well with easy set up (if pool unfilled).
It's tiny and $$$ however mine was leaking so got a new one. Im grateful they had them available. Shipment was fast and product was exactly what I needed. The suction is ok. Beware should you unscrew it once the pool is filled. You'll struggle greatly to ever get it water tight again. Best idea is raise it above the pool and work on it above the water level. If not you'll have a geyser. It was chugging, so I unscrewed the top and disaster. I still have the original but it leaks. Im hopeful if I replace it with this identical one it will be water tight. I do not understand how anyone can change the filters due to the difficulty of making it water tight again. If put on before the pool is filled no issues. I'll try to update when I have my husband give it a try. I'm not draining that pool twice.

Nearly useless for any but the smallest of pools
Do not believe the specs. This is set up per the instructions, and I've gotta say, it's pretty underwhelming at any price. It's probably sufficient for a 5-gallon bucket, but don't try to use this on a 700-gallon pool. It's rated flow is nowhere near enough to sufficiently turn water over in its recommended pool size range. I'd be better off using one of my aquarium pumps. They actually move more water, and they're quieter. It's really pathetic, if I'm honest. I'm not sure if the one I got has kidney stones, or what, but it's definitely not enough for my 8' stock tank pool. My suggestion is to go two sizes up from whatever it's says it can support. At minimum, have your pump's minimum rating be closer to your pool capacity than it's maximum, or just step up to the next higher flow rate. Trust me.

Runs great
At first I was like is this thing working because it is so quiet. It does a great job on the pool. Had pool covered for over a week and when uncovered pool was is great shape. Easy to install, i did it myself a 70 yo grandmother.

Ok
Why did you pick this product vs others?: It works on the pool for sure However it just stopped working after 1 season. Frustrating and annoying.

Great for the money
I bought this to replace the one that came with my pool I bought in June 2020. I wasn’t too happy it came with the timer function, but I had no other options. Turns out I love the timer function. It kicks on at the same time every day so I don’t have to go turn it on each day and it’s a definite energy saver. My pool had stayed just as clean with the timer function as it did running the old pump all the time. Also, I was pleasantly surprised it came with a filter already installed, so now I have an extra filter to get me through the season. Definitely a great price for what you get!

Fills with air and needs constant filter replacement.
This is garbage. It moves water for a day or two, then air gets in it and you have to bleed the air out to keep the water moving. After less than a week, the paper filters are too clogged to even use. You constantly have to stop the pump, let air out, and replace the filter or spray it out to keep using it.

Smaller than I expected but does the job

This is terrible, I wish I read the reviews first, but it was recommended by someone on YouTube so I just bought it. I bought it for a 150 gal cold plunge not a pool, so I’m using a plastic stock tank. First off what a learning curve, but secondly the parts don’t fit. The instructions say to use the cheap plastic hose clamps to attach the hose provided to the strainer connector and the pool inlet air adaptor, but there is no way the tapered end that sticks out of the pool or tub (whatever you are using) will work with these clamps. Clamped all the way you can just pull it off, so couldn’t even test it. I went and bought metal hose clamps and no matter how tight I make it, it still won’t hold. Now I need to go back to Home Depot and get something else to secure it enough to even fill the tub. I’ve already siliconed the inlet strainer and air adaptor into the plastic stock tank, and cut the hose as I was adding a Ventura so that I could add ozone, so I probably can’t even return it. I think I paid about $90ish Canadian for it. Now it’s on sale and I see why lol. Very disappointed in this product. At least have the parts match so that it can be used. I’m not sure how others got it connected, but I did see one other comment from someone saying the parts didn’t fit the tapered end.
