Sabre Tools 1/2" x 39" SDS Plus Bit

Did the job. Had no problem going through block, brick, and 2x4 framing. I have only drilled a few holes so far but the bit is still in excellent shape.

This drill bit held up much better than expected and it got the job done quickly. I was drilling through dirt and rock to get a three foot head start in driving an eight foot grounding rod. A few times when I would hit some rocks the drill bit would flex a lot more than what I was expecting, but it held up well and did not break. When it would start to flex, I would let up on the pressure until it was able to get a hole started on the rocks, then it was able to take more pressure. When finished, the drill bit did not show any signs of wear, such as bending or fatigue. And the carbide tip was also intact and showed no wear. I'm planning on using this for another hole through rock and dirt, so I have great expectations that it will get that job done too.

I had ordered two different sizes in anticipation of relocating a guy wire on my private electric pole. I never had the chance to use them as my contractor had his own rock drill tooling. Be sure when you order that the drive ends are compatible with the rock drill you plan to use. I plan to eventually purchase a compatible impact rock drill for potential future work.

The drill bit is high quality and exactly as described. Turnaround and shipping were quick. Everything was at a reasonable price, just a straight up deal.
