The shells are always beautiful and clean. I’ve never had to worry about an odor. As with natural shells, they do need a quick rinse due to the normal shell dust from shipping/storage but not a big deal. Quick shipper. Package always arrives days before estimated delivery date. Have ordered from them several times. 100% recommend!
