Solid hardwood and well engineered. The center support is steet with two metal legs for additional support. I got this to support a very heavy adjustable base and a 200 lb king size hybrid memory foam mattress on top. The company selling the mattress stressed you needed a frame with good center support or the one year mattress trial would be void. Well this is the right frame for that. I am not mechanically inclined but was able to put it together by myself at a leisurely rate in less than 2 hours. Assembling this was the complete opposite of putting together anything from Ikea. I researched the acacia wood and it is the strongest most dense wood. The British empire used it to build ships. And the way this is designed and supported there's just no way this is falling apart. Looks great and Amazon got it to me in 2 days. Could not have done it that fast from a local furniture store. If I saw this in the store I would have expected to pay three times the price. Was delivered to in front of my garage. I just pushed it inside and unboxed it there. I was able to take it upstairs one piece at a time and assemble it with ease. Looks great and I am proud of the purchase decision every time I look at it. Save me time money and is by far my best Amazon purchase ever.

We were needing a new bed frame and I knew when I found one we liked I should order it. We did and ordered it on April 26. We just assembled it yesterday - August 4 - because we had to wait for new flooring to be put in our bedroom. When the bed arrived the box was in pretty good shape - normal scuffing and one small ding that barely pierced the outside cardboard. The frame weighs a little over 100 lbs, so my recommendation would be - if the cardboard is severely punctured - just refuse the delivery. I finally opened the packaging yesterday. I was impressed from the beginning. Once I had opened the outside box - heavy carboard - there was another box just inside that and it fit snugly in the first one - it was not damaged at all. When I opened the second one I was even more impressed! I hate opening packaging and having little styrofoam pieces immediately scatter themselves over the room. The styrofoam packing pieces were each sleeved in plastic! Wow, this company does a good job of setting customer expectations right up front!! As I separated the wooden pieces into piles for assembly, I was impressed again at how tightly the styrofoam and wooden pieces were packed together. From the inside pieces to the outside boxes, I felt that under normal freight handling this unit should never be damaged. I feel the manufacturer has taken precautions above and beyond to make sure the bed frame arrives in good condition. All the parts were in excellent condition and color matching to the online pictures was very good and the pieces all were excellently finished and the color matched. I was impressed by the tools and screws, etc, included in the set. I assembled the whole unit using the little ratchet they included. The bolts were all labeled nicely. The instructions were easy to understand and it was easy to match the number and letter stickers that were on each piece. The finished bed frame is very sturdy. No wiggle at all. The slats and the way they attach are very easy to install and finishes a strong system. I am totally satisfied and expect the unit will keep me that way for a long time.

So amazing that I ordered a second one for the spare bedroom! It looks great, is easy to assemble, and so sturdy. It is high quality at a great price!

This thing has good instructions, and goes together easily. It seems pretty sturdy. But then there was the problem.I went to put the footboard feet on, and they were labeled backwards. No biggie. Went to put the bolt into one, and the footboad skirt board flat out exploded before I put torque on it. The hole wasn't even lined up with the insert in the leg, and when I looked closer, the board was cracked all the way through. I ended up dumping wood glue into it, clamping it, and running the bolt in. Time will tell.

So disappointed. We bought this bed frame and assembled it immediately. Not too difficult, took 2 of us under an hour. It is lovely and simple and classy looking. Perfect for our style. I saw that someone had posted about it snapping in the center but took a chance. Well...it snapped in the center. Bought it July 7th today is October 7th so it lasted 4 months. Like I said Bummer. It's not the most expensie bed frame but come on. 4 months?!?!? That just sucks. Now what do we do with all this useless bedframe? What a waste of money and resources and landfill. We are very average size people. My side is the one that broke. I'm 5'9 and 150lbs. Just rolled over to get out of bed. I really liked it. What a pain in the ass now LOL. If you get it I hope this doesn't happen to you but consider yourself warned. I thought it wouldn't happen to me. I guess I'll try to add a support and see if that works LOL

This bed frame is sturdy and not a cheap wood. The directions are easy to follow with colored pictures of each step. Packaging was PERFECT. The box came in another box for protection. The styrofoam padding is individually wrapped so no mess! Love everything about this product!
