Costs LESS than bottled water & works BETTER than Brita!
I've had these for a few weeks now. They were easy to install in my Doulton stainless steel gravity water filter (the one with the blue logo and white letters). I only have two of them in there and that's enough for our apartment. It took about 2 cycles of two gallons of water, and then they were good to go! The difference in water quality is SIGNIFICANT! We live in Western New York, and have your typical town water; sourced from good ol' Lake Erie. You can actually smell the chemicals that the treatment plant puts in the water, it's crazy! These filters completely remove that chemical smell, and the water tastes good too! We also have a Brita with replaceable cartridges, and it does NOT remove the chemical smell. I just fill up a couple old Arizona Green Tea jugs with the filtered water, and put them in the fridge to chill. I know Doulton has been around for years, and when I was young, my folks used to have an under-the-sink unit with their well water. In the long-run, the $99 I paid for these is less expensive than purchasing bottled water. It's nice to have piece of mind in a solid product, thats been around for years.

The original and still the best
These are getting really expensive, but they are the best filtration. I like the way ceramic filters clean up the taste of water much more than other styles. They can also be kept in service for a long time if needed. These flow better than the other ceramics on the market.

Very slow flow. Not a good replacement for black berkey filters.
I purchased these water filters to replace the black berkey filters, that are no longer available. I was told that these were replacements. These are incredibly slow. Over four hours to filter 1 gallon of water. This is ridiculous! We use this as our primary drinking water. My Berkey Filters would filter in an hour. I have contacted Doulton but have not yet heard back from them. Saw another review with the same issue. I contacted Doulton and they responded. The filters will self prime after a few gallons have filtered through. They are now working, slower than the black berkeys, but all is good.

Excellent purchase
I love these filters! They are smaller than the original ones I had, but still work great. I usually filter about 2 gallons per day, on occasion I may skip a day. I have finally stopped buying heavy cases of water bottles from the store!

Great filters, great company.
Been ordering these filters for a decade. They are great for removing the chlorine and plastic taste from municipal water. I've only ever had one issue with them when I got a filter with some kind of gunk spot from the factory but they took it back with no fuss.

Berkey Alternative
These filters are an excellent alternative to Black Berkey filters at a cheaper price point. The taste is excellent and they haven't presented the problems I've experienced across two batches of black filters, which are currently three times the price for half as many filter candles. Will update review after a year. UPDATE: They're still going strong and have proven much easier to clean. Due to what I assume is a tighter pore structure in the ceramic, they cannot be backwashed even with a pump. TDS readings remain acceptable and stable, with the candles filtering roughly 1.5-2 gal/day.

Better than Berkey
Better than Berkey, no priming needed, easy to clean, work great for taste ,smell, and filtering.
