Ali's DIY 3 Core 10 mm (SWA) Steel Wire Armoured Cable - 15 Metre Custom Cut Length

I bought 30 metres of this 3 Core 6 mm (SWA) Steel Wire Armoured Cable so I could have power in my shed at the bottom of my garden. I buried it in a thigh-deep trench and laid yellow warning tape above it, available from the same retailer. The cable came tightly coiled and was easy to uncoil and handle on my own. Judging by some of the comments / questions, people seem to be unsure of the external diameter of the cable, which is important when buying wall clips (see photo), and glands for connections at either end of the cable. Well I've just measured the external diameter of this 6mm cable with a digital calliper and it is 14.5mm. In conclusion, this is great quality cable and I'd buy it again.

Excellent quality cable for high domestic current applications like 7kW EV chargers. Use a certified professional to install.

Excellent cable, takes time to strip due to armour layer but is pretty easy to do with a hacksaw. Ran it to an outside office / shed and was more than capable for my needs. I have it running over ground attached to my fence with pipe clips.
