Wild Environmental Science - Under Water City Triopolis - Science Kit for Ages 8+ - Hatch Triassic Dinosaur Living Fossils - Eggs and Tank Included

This was a fantastic addition in our household! My kids and I absolutely fell in love with these little guys. I was actually so sad when one specific triop's life cycle had ended. They like to be hatched best during the warmer months. They're easy to take care of, but I did buy an additional heat lamp to make sure they would thrive. They get so much bigger than expected! My favorite one would come up and tickle your finger and was always so curious. I'm looking forward to the spring when we will hatch some again!

We ordered these triops for my son, and he absolutely loved them! Watching them hatch and grow was such an exciting and educational experience. The kit came with everything we needed, and the instructions were easy to follow. It was amazing to see how quickly they developed—my son checked on them constantly and learned so much in the process. This was a perfect mix of fun and learning, and it kept him engaged for days. Highly recommend for curious kids who love animals and science!

There's so much debris that I'm worried about cleaning out an unhatched egg, some how the babies made it through the block, from debris going between the door, one baby ended up with the glow rocks, how did it even get in there?! The doors are not baby proof at all. It also says no spring water, but I got spring water before I opened the box because I did research and it said it's fine, and they are doing well with spring water. But I definitely recommend getting another tank for when they are bigger so you can safely hatch more babies, I also believe there are other creatures in the tank as food for triops, they seem different than triops, very unsure, could be live food... When I put them in the bigger tank, they were so happy and the tiniest one grew bigger than the biggest one in just a day. They are seriously dirty though, each morning I wake up to balls of goop all over the sand. Had to buy a gravel cleaner. They seriously are hungry messy little monsters. They are very expressive too, they have there own personalities. One likes to play around everywhere, almost like it has ADHD and the other likes to dig in the sand and is calmer. Keeping up on these guy's is a handful, but it's all fun. I got 6 triops out of 15 eggs, and 1 died in 9 days from molt failer so only have 5 now. The tank is only good for hatching babies not keeping them in it their whole lives.

I bought 3 kits and the triops did not hatch in any of them. We used distilled water and kept their environment at the correct temperature.

I bought the WILD ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE Under Water City Triopolis for my son because he had used a similar item before and was very happy with the results. This product is great, with easy-to-follow instructions. The Triops are developing quickly, making it a interesting and educational process for a child.

Troops won't hatch

We tried 2-3 different Triops/Trilobite kits, and THIS one is the one that not only hatched three little guys for us once...but TWICE. In fact, we have enough eggs left for a third time (FYI - not enough food, so we bought protein-rich fish food for the second batch, and that led to bigger trilobites!). Very cool project.

My son really enjoys dinosaurs so we really look forward to doing this. For the price, totally worth it!
