ITIL® Practitioner Guidance (ITIL v3)

This is essential to anyone that is either heavily involved in IT Service Management or has a passing interest in it. It brings many needed and refreshing views to ITIL as a whole and it does change your perspective about it to a degree. I do not lie when I say that some of the guidance here was sorely needed 8 or 10 years ago. It is a bit pricey, even the Kindle edition, but it is worth every penny. And it is, of course, indispensable when going through the test.

This is the official publication and is very much needed to pass the ITIL Practitioner Certification Exam. This is the only reference book that you are allowed to take into the exam itself. This is also an awesome toolbox for anyone else with examples and templates at the back of the book.

Little bit pricey for the size of the book, but it has good material. One note though, if you're going to take the test. It is an open book test. However, you can only bring an UNMARKED book. So if you like to highlight and write in the margins, you either don't get to use your book or you'll have to buy/borrow another one.

Excellent compliment to ITIL Foundations. The Practitioner course and Guide is well worth the investment of time and money since it puts the ITIL Framework into the context of Agile and Lean methodologies and the key human factors to account for in Organization Change Management. Driving value for the customer using a process framed world view for IT as well as Business is an essential. Those who took Foundations and are still not sure how to make concrete use of ITIL insights and realize benefits need to take this course.

Of all of the ITIL books, this is the one worth actually reading. This has great guidance on how to implement ITIL and dealing with the messy parts of changing behavior. There are templates and worksheets that help guide data collection and analysis for a transformation project.

Pricey for a paperback book with few pages. Information in the is helpful, but not critical and not what you might expect for a book of this price, e.g.: would hope to see hints toward testing, better and more useable templates, and samples of putting it into practice. ITIL for Dummies is a geat alternative.

This manual is very concise and easy to read. It complements any prior knowledge you may have with ITIL, Project Management, and Lean nicely. The examples provided are relatable and the content is full of practical advice. Time will tell how well it prepares me for the exam.

It follows the standard ITIL model. I liked that it introduces skill sets and how to's for ITIL processes for any of the 5 ITIL areas. It is something that is lacking in the ITIL modules. Would recommend getting an overview of ITIL processes before using this text.

Bought after taking the MALC course as a recommendation from the instructor. Very handy book with the basics and templates that I will be referencing at work.

Price of the book is very expensive for the amount\level of knowledge available No even a simulation exam is provided with the book

This was my first journey on Amazon. I bought this book and requested to ship to my friend located in Prague so that he brought this book back to China for me. It took some times to deliver to Prague. Very good quality of a book, the content is very practical. I hope I can pass the exam of ITIL Practitioner smoothly after I finish reading it.
