Don’t drop them
I bought a pair and couldn’t recommend them more my only tip is to be careful with them. No calipers should ever be dropped and that is unfortunately exactly what I didn’t and I have just bought a second pair from this same seller.

Thought it was an April Fools joke.
This was my second order for a 12" Mitutoyo dial caliper. First order was a 6" dial caliper. Sent it back and placed another order for the 12" dial caliper. Lost all hope when I opened the box and saw this. The dial had fell off and there was no slide stop. I thought I could save a little money when I purchased lightly used tools, but this one is a little bit too used for me. Will save my money and purchase a new one.

Great product... regardless of Amazon's suggested words.
Why the hell would I mention "sheerness"? Sheerness - a seaport in N Kent, in SE England on the Isle of Sheppey, at the mouth of the Thames: government dockyards. Amazon: Don't offer recommendations for words I should use in my reviews! Mitutoyo calipers are outstanding. I only buy the dial calipers. Call me old-fashioned. The dial doesn't have batteries or electronic components that might need to be replaced. I strongly recommend this product.

My favorite caliper.
My last set had a small plastic piece that broke after 8 years of heavy use. So I bought another. Good price for the quality. Bit more plastic than I would like, but it's only a minor gripe. Absolutely love these. I use the 12" caliper, anything less doesn't cut it for a lot of the parts that I build at work.

Not durable
I travel a lot for work that requires a lot of measuring. I bought these for $225 in June 2019. Only lasted 8 months before the dial indicator needle came off.

Great Product!
I'm a machinist by trade, and we're required to use top quality measuring tools. These are some of the best I have bought for such a great price. Other machinist can understand to have the best can cost a great deal of money. I'm very pleased with the quality, and price of these calipers. Though I've only had them a week, I hope to have them serve me well for the next several years.
