First thing I'll say is the company who sell these are great to work with. First, one of the brackets broke that clamp to the tower (the piece that the speaker itself hangs from), and the company only had black ones in stock, so I asked if they'd send me four black ones so they would all match and they didn't hesitate which was nice. The black bracket compliments the black ring near the grill so it looks sort of cool. Then I lost a tweeter and they worked with me and currently have a new one on the way. I rate them highly on that because I appreciate them working with me and sending me whatever part I need no questions asked. There were some changes I made however.First, from the factory they come with a bolt for each speaker that you tighten and it keeps the speaker from rotating in relation to the mount <- which are black in my photo (the part that clamps to the tower). The bolt I'm referring to here has a plastic grip on it so you can tighten it with your fingers. Problem here is your fingers most likely wont be able to tighten it tight enough to keep from rotating during a bumpy ride and if you don't tighten it enough while pushing the speaker up toward the bracket/clamp, the speaker could potentially fall off as shown in the other reviews. There is a lip that you cannot see on the bracket/clamp that the speaker slides over and the bolt needs to clear when its tightened which will keep the speaker from falling off the (in my case black) brackets. I went to the hardware store, found the thread and got four (one per speaker) regular old hex bolts that you tighten with a wrench or socket and in this case it ended up being a 10mm but I forget the exact thread pitch. Once I replaced the plastic grip bolts with new metal hex bolts and tightened them with a socket wrench, they quit rotating whenever I tow the boat and drive it on a rough day - so problem solved. A $3 improvement that made a night and day difference.Second, while I waited for the new tweeter to come I decided to try out two pairs of Lanzar VX830 three way speakers. At $56 a pair I decided it would be worth a try. I have no intentions on bashing the stock sound of the Sport8 speakers, because they sound great, but the fact is they are 2-way speakers and 2-way speakers will never sound better than 3-way. For the extra $112 it sure took these speakers to a whole new level. I have roughly $500 in two pairs of these Sport8 speakers with the Lanzar speakers and they now sound incredible.Were the speakers perfect when they showed up? Nope. So why did I give them 5-stars? Because the company was willing to work with me, and are willing to do whatever they need to do to make things right. Also, keep in mind I spent $500 with the upgraded speakers, not $1000 and I guarantee they sound just about as good as a $1000+ set of tower speakers. Each speaker gets 100w rms for a total of 400w rms and I can easily piss other people off :) So all things considered, I'd recommend them to a friend but advise them to do some mods.

I don't usually leave a review on products I purchase on amazon but this one needed some attention. I purchased not really knowing what I would getbecause there were no reviews yet when I bought these( Should usually be a red Flag). But I thought I would give them a shot since they were new items listed not long before I bought them. They arrived on time from amazon prime and I quickly opened and checked them out. They seemed to be of decent quality and build upon initial inspection so I went to work drilling holes in my wakeboard tower and running wires(Great video on youtube explaining the process https://youtu.be/CULkIlQclME ) I hooked up the wires for the lights and the speakers and gave them a test then installed on the final mounting hardware. They sounded great and the lights worked nice also. So off to the lake i went to test them out. They worked great and I could hear them behind the boat wakeboarding perfect. Powered them with a Precision Power Black ICE 2200.5 on two of the channels. I then drove home happy as could be. The next day I drove to the Car wash to clean up the boat and noticed one of the speakers was Gone! Looked in the boat and it was laying on the floor. The other speaker was hanging by the wires. So I had drove to the lake, wakeboarded all day and drove home with no issues but on the 2 mile drive to the Car Wash they had broken loose of their Swivel mounts. I did notice the day on the lake that they were not really staying pointed in the correct directions but i just thought the swivel mount thumb screws needed to be tightened. But they are these really small thumb screws holding the whole weight of the speakers and i just don't think this design was ever really going to hold up to the abuse of driving down the road or hitting some surf boat waves on the lake. Thankfully the speaker fell off on the road with no one in the boat to hit in the head but they did hit my motor housing and put a little ding in the fiberglass. I would have given a one star for the short amount of time these things lasted but they actually sounded Great. Better then the Kicker 8'' tower speakers I replaced them with but the poor design of the mounts makes them useless for their intended application. I could have drilled a hole and put a bigger screw to fix it but I didn't think that was necessary on a brand new hi priced item. You get what you pay for in this game i supposed.

I was hesitant on this purchase . But I'm so glad that I went ahead and got Therese. For the money you Simply cannot beat theese speakers. You have to put some good clean power to them but then they really shine. And I'm not talking about just a bunch of racket I'm talking about quality sound.

Rubbish ....far too heavy for the mountings.Mine fell off and broke on first trip.....sound wasn’t good before that.Don’t waste your money.

used three months and the led lights dont work anymore ! DONT BUY THESE not worth the money !

Thumb screws do NOT hold well. Product does not stay pointed in intended direction. Thumb screws are inadequate. Buy a product with a better mounting system.
