Beautiful knife block. Sturdy and attractive. Hold 17 pieces -6 slots are for wide blade knifes, one for scizzors and one for a sharpening hone. The remaining slots are for narrow blade knives and steak knives. If there had been a Wustof block that had more wide blade knife slots I would have purchased it. But this block does hold all the knives I have recently purchased so I am very happy with it and would recommend it as a good purchase for a knife block.
