Park Tool PFP-8 Pump Quick Review
I just got the Park Tool PFP-8 Home Mechanic Floor Pump. After twelve years of using the Spin Doctor Pro HP floor pump, I realized it was time for a backup plan if my old pump stopped working, hence this purchase.I decided to buy this pump based on several factors thorough research among different models of pumps, brand recognition/ reputation, quality, aesthetics, readability, and cost. I did not select based on Amazon reviews; I hardly ever do.However, I was ready to write a review once I inspected the pump and tried it on one of my bicycles. Nevertheless, I was tempted to read what other users had to say. I was particularly intrigued by certain reviewers stating that this pump is poorly designed, lacking quality, and highly inaccurate, and many had claimed that it doesn't fit well on Presta valves and that it even brakes or destroys the inner core of their Presta valves, etc. Owning several bicycles and using a variety of tires, I became concerned. So, after reading the user manual, visiting the manufacturer's website, and watching several videos on YouTube, I've decided to put the pump through the paces. I wanted to conduct fair testing, and I was more concerned about lifting off the core or damaging the Presta Valves and the pump's accuracy.Spoiler Alert: This pump did not disappoint me. First, I started by inflating old tires/tubes that I have retired, focusing on the inflator's head and how well it performed or fit on the several Presta valves of tires I no longer use. I tried to properly use the inflator's head repeatedly on eight sets of tires and repeated the process five times. Every single time I successfully inserted the Presta valve into the inflator's head and inflated the tire successfully, then removed and reattached the inflator from the valve successfully at a 100% rate without registering any failure. Then, once I gained confidence that the pump was suitable to function with Presta valves, I moved to the next phase, where I inflated my actual tires mounted on my bikes, and I was looking for the Presta valve's perfect fit and gauge accuracy.I tested the PFP-8 on the following set of tires and setups: two sets of 700c x 23 clinchers on aluminum wheels, a set o clingers 700x25 tubules ready mounted on Carbon wheels, one set of tubeless 700x28c, one set of tubeless 700x30c, and a set of hybrid bike tires 650x50mm. All tire sets that I tested use Presta valves. I compared the Park Tool PFP-8 Home Mechanic Floor Pump readings against the Topeak Smart digital gauge D2. The outcome was impressive. The Park Tool floor pump and the Topeak SmartGauge D2 were +3 PSI apart and displayed identical PSI values four out of ten times.Even though it appears sturdy, I cannot vouch for the pump's durability and longevity since I had this tool for two days.Based on my personal experience, I recommend the “Park Tool PFP-8 Home Mechanic Floor Pump.”

Great track pump for road tires
I had to replace my Top Peak Joe Blow Booster which decided it wont work as a pump anymore despite its considerable cost. This Park Tool pump is very smooth and I am hoping it will last me longer than the 2 years the Top Peak did.

Works fine, read the instructions
Only had it for a day so far but it works fine. I'll update my review if that changes.I compared the pressure gauge to a high accuracy digital gauge I have. At 40psi on the pump gauge, digital shows 35. At 60 psi on pump gauge, digital shows 55. Not perfect, but not bad.I was skeptical to buy after reading reviews of snapped off prestas. If you are snapping off prestas, you are using it wrong. Read the instructions, the valve is locked when the lever is parallel to the valve, some other brand pumps' levers are the opposite, so I can see how the mistake is made.

Great value
A good pump is a must and this seems to be a good pump. Comes in handy for any valve type and inflates tires quickly. Had to use it many times for the people I live with, it’s easy to use and has no gimmicks.

Pump last for two uses
Purchased the Park bike pump assuming it would be good product to leave in my car for bike club rides. The pump only lasted two times. The gauge does not work, it drops to zero each time I pump it. Very disappointed.

Sturdy pump
It's exactly what I expect from Park Tool. It's sturdy, the gauge works well, fits Presta and Schrader and I expect it to last a long time.

This Thing is Far From Accurate !
I have always been a big fan of Park Tools, so when it came time to replace my decades old pump, I did not hesitate and ordered a Park pump.Big mistake !This thing is totally inaccurate, when checking the tire pressure after pumping up the bike tires. The gauge on my new pump registered 100 lbs, but the tire actually only had less than 50 lbs in it.I then checked it against 2 tire pressure gauges, and 2 other tire pumps and it still is reading incorrectly.

Park tools for my bikes are great quality
This is a good quality bike pump by Park tools. The pressure gauge is big which is great because I don’t have to squint or put on my glasses to read the pressure. Inflation is good because you don’t have to bust your gut to pump up your Tyres. It was also great value for money for a quality product.

Super Standpumpe
