Westcott 17519 Full-Size Ceramic Blade Box Cutter, Retractable Utility Knife

I run a shipping business that necessitates opening lots of boxes, and far too many times I have risked injuring my fingers using the conventional heavy, sharp-bladed metal box cutter. Luckily, this ingenious device has been a complete game changer for me. As someone who hasn’t used a ceramic-bladed knife before, I was skeptical about how well it would work. However, I’m now amazed at how much quicker and easier it is to open most boxes with this product compared to my old box cutter. Although the product is mostly made of plastic, the ceramic top is quite strong and can cut through most tape and cardboard with ease. It’s super easy to retract and extend the blade, and the compactness means it can be easily stored anywhere. Overall, I highly recommend this product, as it has revolutionized my process of opening and breaking down boxes for my business at an incredibly fair price.

Amazon left one of these in one of my shipments once (thank you for the freeby Amazon) so I tried it out. I ended up buying a few more. They work great. Light, small, very visible when you drop them in the yard (although blaze orange would be better) and because the blade retracts when you are not using it, it is much safer than a standard razor blade knife. The blade is rather small, but it is enough to cut cardboard, bags of mulch, etc. And no rusting.

I have at least 5 of these scattered around to open boxes. They're safe because the blade automatically retracts when you let go of the button. Extremely sharp. Cut better and don't get dull like the metal blades.

Not the sharpest, but really good when you have to break down boxes or cut off pieces of cardboard. It's safe, the plastic blade is retracted by a spring, it may not be as good as a steel blade but it does what I need for cheap.

I use it daily and works great. Very well made.

This thing is a lifesaver! I have no idea how it works BETTER than the super sharp metal one I was using, but it does, and it’s lighter and doesn’t make me worry about accidentally hurting myself while using it.
