Its wood. At a reasonable quality.
Quality is fine. Would have been 5 stars but it did not come with any instruction on how to build it. Good thing a little experience with IKEA furnitures and it uses some similar parts. Still, you really need to plan ahead and figure out which part goes where. Hope my instructions below will help. 1. I started with the base, attached the wooden dowels and long screw to the legs. 2. Attach the side panels. make sure the cam lock slots are on top side. (Bare wood should always face rear of cabinet) 3. Attach the mid panel with wooden dowels and long screw. 4. Attach the white plastic shelf pegs. 5. Prepare the top panel by screwing in the nuts and the dowels. 6. Connect top panel and place in cam locks and tighten. 7. Prepare the four cabinet doors by attaching the hinges on those circular slots but make sure its facing the correct direction. 8. Attach the doors same way orientation as the product image. 9. Slide those shelves in. 10. Nail that flimsy back panel. I tried nailing the shelves too but the wood warps and get damaged easily, use your own judgement here. I strongly suggest not using the screws on the shelves as the warping of the wood is much worse than the nail. 11. Use those round plastic covers wherever you think it should go. I used then on the side panels and cam locks. Dont forget the door stoppers. They are a bit difficult to attach as its not a great fit, just hammer them in and it will work. 11. Product is very good and elegant only thing to do is while ordering add the extra amount for fixing the cabinet. Enough space to keep the shoes.

Amazing!
