Good find.
Looked at lots of options before settling on this one. Have never liked putting food scraps into the regular kitchen trash can and then they sit there for days. This mini one is the perfect size to place in the kitchen sink to conveniently stash food garbage in and then every day or two take it to the large curbside bin. Grocery produce bags fit into it nicely, or even some pet waste bags, to keep it clean. It's not obtrusive in the sink and can sit easily on the counter if you prefer.

Love the size
I love it.. I'm using it by hanging it on the bottom cabinet door in the kitchen. I bought the white one. I love the size bc I have a cat who thinks all smells need to be tend to, eaten n make a mess of.. love him.. the small size is good enough for one days smelly food to be collected n taken outside.. yes, everyday.. my house does not smell n the cat stays off the trash. I recommended this product if you are looking for something sturdy, compact, good enough to add to your kitchen. If you would like to hide it.. you can always place it on the inside of the door... it's that small. It will also sit on the counter for quick access too. Oh! Clean up is a breeze too. I really like my purchase.

Compact size is good for small households
We are a two person household in an apartment with a relatively small kitchen and no yard. Composting is now required in New York City. The bucket is small, but for us holds about 4 days of compostable items most days. It has a holder around the top edge that holds compostable bags in place, and the cover hooks onto the top edge for convenience when adding items. Because it is small, it attaches to the cupboard door under the sink near the top so it clears the cleaning products etc. stored under the sink. My only complaint is that there is no place to attach a small charcoal filter, so that odors are absorbed when open. Not a problem when the lid is on. It is easy to clean.

Works well for compost purposes (but it's small)
As noted, depending on your use it's pretty small. This is fine for us since the compost pile is just a short walk away so emptying this puppy every couple of days is not an issue. It is narrow and short enough to fit on the door under our kitchen sink, without having to make a space for it. I used the provided hanger so it clears the top of the cleaning products that are on that side of the sink. I also bought some of the "compostable" bags but have since learned that isn't really accurate. Those bags will only degrade in a high temp commercial composting operation. However, since this container is plastic I am concerned that it will eventually take on odor so I'm using the bags anyway... and emptying them into the bin. I saw a question about using brown paper lunch bags, so I might try that (but that would seem to create an issue with liquid and therefore odor.) I have since learned that many people will use a metal bowl and/or some keep a bag/bowl in their freezer. The materials freeze which eliminates the possibility of smell and the moisture issue. That seems to work better for a larger cache though, so I'm sticking with this solution for as long as it works. The lid on this container is nice and tight, so we generally only have an odor issue when my wife puts onion or such in there.

Perfect little size
It's super simple and no-nonsense, but it's perfect for our needs. It's attractive in our blue and white kitchen, and its super small size means we can keep it in our sink without it peaking over the edge or taking valuable sink space (I think our sink may be a little deeper than normal, so be sure to measure the depth of your sink if you want the same experience as us). No more ugly compost bin on the counter and no more bending down below the sink every time we want to scrape a plate. And it cost next to nothing. I was really surprised by how pleased we are with this purchase.

BUY THE LARGE! Don't get the small one, your hand won't fit and will make a mess around the lid.
Buy the largest one. Small is too small. You will throw out whole chicken bones, fish bones and other uneaten larger items, so get the large one, which is not that big anyways. Target plastic bags fit the large ones, so reuse those.

There has to be a better option out there.
This is okay but for me I don't think this is an ideal solution. Mounting was a challenge you only get one shot with the adhesive mount, I chose to screw the mount into where I was keeping the container (the inside of the cabinet where my trash can is) The lid does seal tightly to keep out most odors. If you do not empty this every few days (and clean it out) you will get mold. The mold will make spores which will become airborne when you open the container, add food scraps or empty the container. Obviously breathing mold spores can pose a hazard.

Bin has several positives
I returned another food waste bin because the top was too awkward. I like the top on this bin for it opens 2 ways plus the top holds the compostable bags from slipping down into the bin. Nice smooth plastic makes it easy to clean with a sponge. I did not use the wall hanger as this is slim enough to sit on my counter. This bin works for 2 people I empty it every other day. I have not seen any fruit flies in this bin either.
