All Are Welcome Here
Ugh, I loved, loved Alexandra Penfold’s and Suzanne Kaufman’s story, All Are Welcome Here! So much so that I am totally not embarrassed to admit that I cried in the store when I was reading this book. I then walked straight up to the counter and bought this book. I promise that I will forever be reading this book to every class that I will ever have. Yep! It was that good! All Are Welcome Here shares the message of a school. A school where everyone's differences are loved and celebrated. Page-after-page introduces different types of race, religions, ethnicity, and body types. These difference are celebrated as the message, “All are Welcome Here,” was repeated and shared on page-after-page of this beautiful text. All Are Welcome Here is a book that must be present in every classroom. The message in today’s world lately has been so destructive to those that are different. I choose to counteract the message of the world by reminding my students every day that they all are welcome in my classroom, and to do that, I will absolutely be using the book, All Are Welcome Here!

Same -sex Marriages
Precious poem and beautiful, detailed illustrations are not enough to make me keep this book. I will not teach the concept of marriage between man and man or woman to woman. It is not my belief. I will return this book.

Not well designed
Multiculturalism and respect for all different cultures are absolutely something I want to instill in my child. The content of this book, and the intentionality shown through it are good. However, there is very limited, repetitive vocabulary. With this level of vocabulary, you would expect it for little kids (2-3 y/o). But many concepts (e.g., chemistry experiments, world map, flags of different countries) in it can't even be understood by 4+ y/o! If I want to make use of this book, I have to wait until my child is older, but when he is older, this book would be too simple for him in terms of the vocabulary it provides and the enjoyment he might feel.BTW, I saw the flag of Hong Kong among a bunch of other countries' flags. Hong Kong is not a country. It's only a region.

2nd grade teacher- Highly Recommend
If you’re looking for a book about inclusion and the celebration of diversity, this is it. The storyline is cute and sends a positive message. The illustrations are beautiful and the book jacket has a wonderful poster on the backside. I laminated the book jacket to hang in my classroom. I’m very happy with this purchase.

Great book!
Great book - showcases diversity, timely and important. Wonderful to use at the start of a school year. We laminated pages and it used to decorate the lobby of our school and classroom doors.
