Makeup snob over here...
I've been having trouble finding my foundation for what must be 5 years now...my go to changed their colors or made some seemingly minor tweak that ruint it for me.When it comes to foundation, I've always been the lady at the counter in goldsmith's, (clinique type counters) or at a director's house trying samples first...Mary kay, beauticontrol, younique, merle norman, stuff like that...& later, I tried sephora and ulta, where I was matched with tarte and another brand. Both experiences SUCKED.It was just a young girl at a job in a place(s) that was a hot mess...kids putting dookie fingers in samples, stock all jacked up...and as far as the girl making a check, that's fine, but I need somebody good at matching shades and finding something that goes with the needs I'm listing...As regular stores started carrying better brands, I knew I could find something there if I was willing to lose the money on trial and error. Here's my problems- I don't recall these ever being issues in my younger years. Maybe the makeup sucks more now, maybe I didn't notice, maybe my go to brand all those years was sparing me:My biggest peeve is foundation with SMELL.I don't want to smell my makeup all day.The biggest and newest problem has been oxidization...at least, that's what my 17 year old calls it.It's where you apply it and then when you look at your face, your pores are like...WHITE, compared to the rest of your skin.Really really really can't seem to spend enough to avoid this, so far.So my friend went with truaura when beauticontrol shut. I never liked Beauticontrol foundation, Aside from the Secret Agent in the winter for days I needed really great coverage and didn't mind its heaviness in exchange. If I'd worn it in summer in the south j think it would've been misery but it was fine for winrer. In the summer during this period, I'd use Mary Kay's mineral loose powder foundation. So over the last year, I'd spent so much on items hailed as "the one" that I was beyond frustrated. The biggest culprit is YOUNIQUE.Y'all. Remember the Facebook videos of sellers applying black eyeliner on their faces and then seeming to completely cover that when they applied their TOUCH MINERAL foundation?LIES. LIESSSSSS! So misleading, I swear one say they'll be mailing us class action suit info.I was so disappointed with bottle #1 & fr months I'd hear "you didn't use the right applicator! You didn't use the concealer/primer/moisturizer that they did first!" And even though I thought I was smart, my desire to find a good makeup kinda had me apparently willing to believe this so I BOUGHT ANOTHER BOTTLE ANNNNND the right "applicator/concealer/whatever" that time. And guess what.It still sucks goat butt.I feel like i got scammed. That's how bad it is.So i called my friend and said "look. I know I wasn't a fan of beauticontrol really but if I come by, can you let me try some shades and types of the truaura?"Because I just really needed to be able to try and smell and feel the options again for once, as I'd used a sales lady for truaura but via mail. She moved and the person here in commission circles is my sister in law, and I can't stand her so...yea I had it shipped by a friend I'd rather see profit, lmao.So I'm supposed to be heading over there this week to try those, but browsing Amazon, I clicked a review for an item that I thought could be a paid one, to see if she had other reviews, and saw her praising this brand, although whatever type it was, was out of stock in my shade, yet I came across this one half that price and said screw it, I need something to get me through till my appointment. For a year, I've only been able to walk out the door with Hard Candy's sheer glow all the way illuminator on my skin!Go figure! And guess what?Of COURSE it was by a brand that seems to rotate items out seasonally, so finding another bottle has been myMount Everest. And it doesn't even cover. I love it in summer bc it's so dang humid here! Its light, it makes my skin look so healthy in tone, but if I'm going out on the town or whatever, well, I'm 40 this June. There are things I'd like to hide from the world on my face now. So that's been great and all but not foundation that I've been on the hunt for.Y'all.I'm really shocked by how great this stuff right here is.Smell? If there is one, it's not registering for my nose. Definitely no minty cheap smell from way back when Walmart just had covergirl and maybelline and it always smells like a nickel!Oxidization? I'll have my teen over analyze it, but I'm seeing NONE!!!!Applicator? Not even difficult, dudettes! BC IT CAME W ONE!I grew up using my fingers and my ten was horrified. And it does seem now that nothing blends if I apply it as I did back when I wasn't trying to make wrinkles and weird stuff vanish...but I hate the brushes and I hate the sponges. This one came with what was needed so I didn't have this trial and error I've grown accustomed to!!Best yetthat applicator? : like butta. It ACTUALLY helps, lolllll. The feel of this is great!I'm weird about heavy feeling stuff on me... for example, I don't even use hair products ever. I cannot stand feeling them in my hair, lol.And boy does my hair need something out here in the summer...Anyway!I'm so pleased with this, my upcoming visit with my friend to try truaura is more to keep my word than because I actually need to find a savior in her stock! This was an impulse buy after their other type I wanted was out of my shade.I wish I could find it, Nd I'm sure I will...because I still would like to have SPF and a matte finish for fancy outings. But this here, especially for day to day wear? Perfect. It never goes this way for me and I'm so pleased! Lol.I think it'll work year round on my skin, honestly. Definitely could wear it in our summers.Really good coverage for what I've read is a satin finish! This one's shade on the bottom just says "light" & when I look at other items they carry, the shade names send me back to a place of anxiety.I loathe weird shade names I can't get an idea of the shade from seeing. But I think googling what I've got now, maybe I can see what it is called in other shade names...ah I wish brands would just NOT. LOL! anyway. Aside from that one whine, I'm beyond happy and hope to find another with a matte finish and spf to add! Also, I put a little tiny bit of my illuminator on over this some times and it looks great, so it even works well with what I had prior. Yay!Now to have a similar success with my 4 year "dear God why did they change my bra?!" bra search....

Tired of Wasting Tons of Money on Horrible Foundations? Compelled to share:
I've tried a boat load of different foundations, wasting vast amounts of precious dollars on both drugstore and high-end Dept store varieties. This foundation is great. I'm gonna say I have combo skin - oily here/dry there - but that's not my problem. My problem is that over the years I have really managed to mess up my skin - I'll admit it, I'm a face picker - so I'm dealing with scarring and open patches and, to top it all off, I'm getting old too so here come the wrinkles! Put all that together and you've got someone who is desperately trying to cover up stuff that is nearly impossible to cover up, and somehow manage to not look caked on or wrinkley gross at the same time. Good luck with that, right? Well i think this particular Physicians Formula Nude Wear Foundation actually does all that and more. It covers like WOW, yet it's natural looking and is youthful dewy but not yucky oily. The reason i checked this foundation out in the first place was because ONE of their powders (and you will need to set this with a powder) is my absolute Holy Grail powder (so good that it's one of the only other reviews I've ever done - i just felt compelled to do it) i wondered then if their foundations were good too. I tried a few different kinds which i wasn't impressed with... Then i tried this one. I swear to God i am a regular person with zero ties, payments, endorsements, links, reviewing jobs or anything else and i bought this stuff with my money - I've never even gotten a free sample or anything. I just know how much i search these reviews looking for help only to be disappointed and with much less money in my pocket because of them. So in my opinion, this one is great!

Amazed
OMG! I'm in love! I never write reviews, mostly because when it comes to make up I'm never really that satisfied. I am over 30 and I've never had troubled skin or sensitive skin until my late 20s. Never had a pimple, black head, cystic acne on the chin, not one issue. I didn't even wear make up until my mid 20s and that was to help cover the stressful let go look of being a mommy! Now I have problem skin, oily skin, scars, ect. I've tried everything, new regimens, brands, to wearing nothing at all! Nothing has worked. I just received this by Ups maybe 15 mins ago and tried it immediately! I loved the packaging, but the brush that came with it was awesome! I pumped a small portion into the brush and started to apply it and my mouth literally dropped! I purchased the nude, but the coverage is the best I've ever seen in any foundation I've ever used (countless brands and bottles from cheap $5 to expensive $50)! I continued to apply and I'm so satisfied by this product that I had to stop what I was doing to right this review! An as soon as I'm done with this, I'm ordering another one to have on hand! My skin is so soft with this foundation on. Not oily or greasy! It's a very light foundation with great coverage! I don't know if everyone who tries this will have the same results I did, but for the price it is definitely worth a try. I can't say at this point how my skin will react to this product, but it can't do any worse than any of the other products I've used!
