Cool addition to the Dark Tower
First of the graphic novels of this series I have read. It is a cool side/back story to accompany the original Drawing of the Three.Great artwork, well written.

Great Writing, Good Art, Two problems with printing
What’s Great: the story itself and everything added in or given greater detail than the novels (in particular, the heart wrenching story in part one). If you loved the book, this one is worth grabbing to detail a little more from Eddie Dean’s early years. What’s good: the art. It succeeds when it matters, but it’s not consistently great. What’s not good: maybe I’m being picky, but I’m frustrated that the binding is not the same as hardcover editions of earlier entries in the saga (New publisher—Gallery 13 instead of Marvel). The dust cover won’t betray the difference when they sit on the shelf, but I’ll know. Also, I was sad that the cover art on the “floppy” comic book versions by Julian Totino Tedesco was excluded. Issue 1 in particular had a beautiful cover image that is seared into my memory.Overall: 4/5
