I’ve had a problem lately where at the end of the day, my hands will want to form a fist naturally and I can’t help it. I haven’t been diagnosed with anything but I definitely wanted to do something about it, so I tried this supplement and it worked. My joints feel much more relaxed at the end of the day. I take it every night and since it’s both affordable and effective, will continue to take them. No noticeable taste or aftertaste, which is great. I only wish it came in a glass container because I really don’t like eating out of a plastic pill container, but besides that, it’s perfect and has improved my life.

I'm always looking to reduce the medications necessary to treat my multiple inflammatory conditions. I've tried taking tumeric, in which curcumin features as the active ingredient, and got squat for a result. Later, a physician friend of mine said she had good results with 1000 mg/day of Meriva, and that Jarrow's brand was the most reasonably priced. I was skeptical to say least, so I researched the substance on my own. I learned that: (1) Meriva is a trade name for curcumin phytosome (i.e., curcumin bound to a phospolipid made up mostly of lethicin), (2) in phytosome form, curcumin is better absorbed by the body, making it effective as a topical or systemic anti-inflammatory, and most importantly, (3) it would do no harm by interacting with my medications or otherwise. That convinced me to give it a try, and I'm so glad I did. In less than a week, I was able to drop all pain medication for an inflamed rotator cuff and arthritis in my knees. After 3 weeks on this product, I badly sprained some tendons and ligaments in my foot. Though I'm still walking in a compression boot while the foot heals, I haven't needed to take a single pill for pain. No OTC medication or supplement should be taken without consulting a doctor AND using your own head. But if you're looking for a non-drug agent to reduce chronic inflammation, you may want to start doing some homework on curcumin phytosome.

Jarrow Formulas uses Meriva brand curcumin which uses a phospholipid delivery system that ensures a higher degree of absorption. Meriva is a product of Indena, a leader in making botanicals that that are of top quality.

I've tried a lot of supplements, and most of the time I take them and can't really notice any difference. I definitely notice a difference with the curcumin phytosome, though. I have a number of health issues and thought I'd try it after reading great things about curcumin. I wasn't sure exactly what to expect, but I noticed my neck and back pain were significantly reduced while taking it, also relieving my headaches and general head/back tension. I was skeptical about the results at first, since there are so many variables it can be hard to pinpoint exactly what causes what. So I tried going on and off of it for about a week at a time, and like clockwork my pain recurs and subsides whenever I stop and start taking the supplement. I'm fairly confident that my improvement is correlated to the curcumin. I did notice that my asthma symptoms and allergies are somewhat worse while on this supplement, but it's not terrible. Everything I read says it's supposed to help asthma/allergies, but I think everyone is a little different. I'll gladly take the asthma/allergies in exchange for being pain-free in my neck and back. I should also note that this is the only curcumin supplement I've ever tried so I can't compare it to any other form or brand of curcumin, but my doctor did specifically recommend the curcumin phytosome form.
