I love the build quality and the concept of this visual timer, but it had an unexpected effect on my son. The Problem: The visual countdown created high anxiety. He became fixated on the clock rather than his activity, leading to shouts of "NO" whenever it came out. The Solution: We’ve gone back to basic phone timers which he finds much more relaxing. Takeaway: This is a 5-star product for children who need a visual aid, but a 1-star for children who get stressed by deadlines. Know your child's temperament before buying! The Pros Intuitive Design: The visual timeline is incredibly easy for children to grasp immediately. Ease of Use: Simple to set up and operate for busy parents. Visual Clarity: Does exactly what it promises by making time "visible." The Cons Anxiety Trigger: For my child, seeing the time "disappear" caused significant stress and hyper-focus. Distracting: He spent more time watching the clock than focusing on his task. Strong Negative Association: He now prefers a standard digital timer over this visual version. The Verdict: While this is a brilliant tool for many children, be mindful if your child is prone to anxiety. For us, a simple phone timer works better than seeing the visual countdown.

I am a behavioural consultant and often i work with families to help them undertand the importance of giving kids warnings before transitions. some of the kiddos I work with struggle with the pressure of timed demands but they still need a warning to process upcoming changes. I like the way this particular timer gives a warning without the pressure of the exact time.

We are currently teaching our kids time management. They earn their time for video game through chores and then we were having a hard time getting the to understand the time they are allowed on games. We would try to give them a warning of when time was going to end soon. But there were still arguments when we said it was time to turn off the games. This timer has been a great teaching tool. With the colors, they know exactly where their game time is at. They aren't super great with clocks so the clocks weren't cutting it. But now, when it turns yellow, they know time is almost over and to get to a good place to stop the game. Very easy to use and figure out. Definitely recommend to parents that are teaching time management. Makes it so much easier.
