Does the job
I saw many negative reviews still I brought this product. And to my surprise it is completely worth it. Works like a charm. Seller also sent the latest product ie 2022 version but imported in July 2024. The only problem is it weighs 28 kilo and there is only one handle at the back. It has wheels so you can move around ur house but to lift and take it to a different floor would be very challenging. I have not used a 1 ton AC, coz I am using a 1.5 ton AC. So if you ask me does it cool the room i would say it may or may not but I have not used it quite much. If u turn on the AC it will throw cool breeze which is the same as any normal AC. It is comfortable to use coz it is portable so you can adjust the position as per ur wish. The air throw is excellent even at speed 2. It has total 3 air speed. I mostly used the fan and not the AC both works as it should. Remote control is not working or it sometimes work and I will ask for a replacement. Other then that this AC suffice my needs but it's too pricy if compared to a window AC or a split AC. Because PPL will buy a split AC because it cost little less then the portable AC. Final verdict is I am happy and every one has its own way of judging things because it depends on their requirements.

All the negative reviews are true. Purchased it to prove it to myself
In spite of the negative reviews, I still wanted to try for myself and ordered the Cruise portable AC, but this is indeed a very disappointing product. It doesn't cool the room by any means. My room size is 80 square feet and I ran it for about 2 hours with proper installation. My room is in ground floor of a 2-storyed building so not extremely hot as well but still this AC came of no use in reducing the room temperature. Maybe this is suitable for those places where the temperature doesnot exceed 27 degrees but this will not be suitable for a majority of India. I have read almost all reviews on the product before buying and these are the facts that are actually true. *The compressor starts and stops for a very brief (less than a minute) and most of the other time it is in fan only mode. You cannot force the compressor to start (like there is no "Turbo" mode or "Fast cool" mode like we have in Split AC). So that basically means the cool air comes out only for a few seconds and rest of the time this is just a fan throwing air at room temperature. *There is a weird jerking sound that comes sometimes when the compressor stops. You are almost scared that the ac broke down. Others have mentioned it too. This doesnot happen everytime but it does happen very frequently. Potable ACs are infamous for being useless and this purchase has proved the point for me. Since this is a non-returnable item, you will be stuck with a really useless piece of machine that will not serve you any purpose reminding of the 30 thousand+ you wasted.

It is a temporary Solution and cannot replace the regular AC
After using for two months, my suggestion is to get a regular AC if you have an option. Pros: 1. We can move it anywhere(window should be there though) 2. Compact 3. Auto evaporate of water 4. Pretty easy installation Cons: 1. Electricity bill got spiked very high as compared to my split AC. 2. Portable AC makes noise and never stops or slows down like regular cooler. 3. It’s almost the same price as that of regular AC but it does not cool the room like them and I had to sit close to it to get the relief in summers. 4. Even though it provides cool air, but it is ineffective to bring down the temperature of overall room or may take very long to do the same. Conclusion: It’s just a temporary solution to get some relief in summers but I would advice to get a regular AC instead of it. May be in future Portable AC will get better.

Power consumption can be an issue
1. Smooth shipping and delivery; 2. Packaging was good; 3. Package contained a: AC unit; b: hot air hose; c: window adapter in two pieces; d: relevant nuts, washers and screws; 4: Window adapter comes with pre-moulded socket for hot air exhaust. This adapter in two parts measures about 100cm in length. My window is bigger so I purchased a thermacol substitute and masking tape from local stationary store to seal off window. 5: Installation: Was smooth, though one person can struggle. Also, you can get a metal fabricator to create an extension beyond 100cm for the window adapter. Because of lockdown, not been able to find cost/time. 6: Power consumption: I waited for a month to assess my electricity consumption. I used the AC every night from 11pm to about 8am. Usage date approx from March 18-April 10 (meter reading date), about 24 days. Thermostat setting was 25 or 26C. Outside temperature was between 28C to 32C but humidity was high. Used on DRY setting for an hour at the start then turned on COOL. Total power consumption was about 220 units more than average bill before AC usage. Calculated approx power consumption of ONE unit per hour of operation. So 10 hours usage per day x 30 days = 300 units approx per month. My state has different slabs for different usages, so 300 units puts me into 'high power consumer' category, costing me more. 7: Assessment: AC is a necessity in summer months and, in most places, summer is for about four months. 300 units per month x 4 month per year = 1,200 units per year. These are approximate figures, some places are hotter and will consume more power, some are less humid and that will impact power usage. A user can assess if this expense per year is worth a comfortable sleep. 8. Room size was about 154 sq ft, much more than 100 sq ft recommended by manufacturer. 9. Water needs to be drained once in about 10-15 days, since my place has high humidity. 10. Support from local Cruise AC technician was courteous and informative. He informed me that extension window adapters are NOT available even if I want to purchase it from manufacturer (point for manufacturer to note, many homes have larger windows and an extension plate can be offered by manufacturer to future customers). This assessment is after about 24 days of usage in early summer. Peak summer expected in May. Will try to update in first week of June.
