Getting Started with CNC

Not definitive, does not cover the fundamentals in any technical sense. It's like a Ladybird book. On the positive side, you can read it in a day, and will be introduced to some terms you might not know. To get an idea of the depth, on linear guide types, it says "A few of the most common types of linear guides are shown in Figure 7.1" - there is a photo showing four examples, they are not labelled nor described, nor is there any discussion of the relative merits, problems, applications nor dimensions. If you are wondering how to program your PC parallel port to control a stepper motor, it's not that kind of book.
