Not snake oil, a higher resolution than stock sensor resulting in actual position of throttle
****Another Follow up a few years passed:****I still am using this, still have the same experience. No negatives to speak of. Just keep it clean using MAF cleaner spray when I clean my air filter. I am using it with an oiled "pod" filter, some people were saying that an oiled filter will cause problems with this MAF, but that is only if you over oil it. I have had a great experience and am now looking for one on my other 4runner 4.7l v8 that recently got an intake.**follow up**Still running strong. Avg 1.5-3mpg depending on if towing, cruising stop and go etc. But highly recommended for modified vehicles. (Although I did keep the OEM in the glove box just in case when in the woods, but never needed it.)I was worried this was just going to be snake oil. I am now a believer. On my 2016 4runner TRD Pro drove 100 miles without the Jet Sensor as a base line run (currently at 25k miles.)My mods from stock are: Spectre intake, Doug thorley Y-Pipe, White Knuckle sliders (weight penalty) and premium gas every tank. Premium because I have found over 25k miles that premium when run over 3-4 tanks will get better mileage and power by advancing timing (just like the Lexus numbers quote for the same motor on paper).I installed the Jet Sensor and immediately went from 19 mpg avg (studded snow tires) highway to 22.8 on the first 50 mile stretch of Oregon coast highway @55-60mph. I was expecting after the first stop and start for the ECU to correct for the sensor but I was wrong. The home trip was a slower winding highway drive in rain for 2.5hrs (45-60mph) and I averaged 21.6 mpg over 150 miles (in the rain!!). So I definitely gained MPG while cruising in different conditions and a few start stops. As for what it did to drivability:The accelerator pedal seems like it has gotten "sharper" like it now has a finer resolution. Before there was a "dead spot" right at throttle tip in or let out. That is gone completely. Now I can hear my engine still getting gas when before it would just close the throttle plate. It is as though I gained the ability to access 1%,2%,3%,4%,5% actuation when before it would jump 0% to 5% immediately. While this is not going to be a like adding a supercharger... it does refine the throttle controls, gives better gas mileage.Performance:I did not notice any loss of anything that is for sure. If replacing a stock unit definitely buy this one. Im not sure if its the higher pedal resolution or what but my butt dyno says quicker, shifts seem smoother/less noticeable and less erratic on grades. I cannot specifically quote numbers ect/ and butt dynos are not quantifiable but once I can try again on dry pavement I will test the acceleration because I was breaking tire loose at WOT in 1st 2nd and 3rd when pulling onto the onramp from a roll which never used to happen so, either I was on an oil slick or added torque.I will follow up after a few thousand miles.

Some difference in throttle response - but not a lot
I based my purchase off a review on a 2016 Toyota 4Runner. It's supposedly increaseed throttle response noticeably. I have the same year vehicle but it is not a TRD -it has exhaust and intake modifications. I noticed very little difference in throttle response in the low RPMs and some difference in the mid-to-upper throttle response. My advice would be to save your money and purchase a sprint booster. Reviews are consistently better and I think it would work much better for throttle response, but unfortunately they are at least double the price. Time will tell if there's any difference in mileage.

At least the car runs good now though
This was the correct part number for my Scion IQ per Jet customer service. Installed this on my OEM intake. The check engine and trac light both came on after the install. The car ran so rough I could hardly keep it running. Made it to work 6 miles away, put the OEM MAS back on and it runs normal again. Now I have to figure out how to get the CEL and Trac lights to turn off since they are on even with the OEM MAS installed again. At least the car runs good now though. Returning the JET. For $160 cost, I got a lot of trouble I didn't need.

UPDATED: Defective unit received, awesome customer service
----- UPDATE -------At first I tough I got a fake one., you can read my original review below.I contacted JET Performance directly and they explained to me that they indeed took stock parts and modify them, so the one I received is not a fake one.Looks like I received a defective unit, so they gave me a RMA to claim warranty, will update this review after that.JET Customer service is awesome, they resolved my concern and generated the RMA very quickly!----- ORIGINAL------I received a fake one.I bougth it from Amazon LLC and the package looks legit, I installed it on my car and worked for a while.... but with all of this COVID related situation and curfew on my country didn't used my car too much.A couple of weeks ago I started using my car again, the car still had problems and the Check engine turned on again with the SAME P0101 code, this time instead of just replacing the MAF Sensor I tested it with a digital multimeter.... the MAF is dead.I saw that the jet performance sticker was fallin of and tear it off to see whats inside .. oh surpirse! Its an aferbrand and maybe used sensor with that they tried to erase the numbers (looks like a denso?)My return window ended so I think I will buy another one from a different place and lost my money :(
