Awesome variation to running cables from controller.
I was skeptical about these at first because of the price point, but there was a lot of good reviews so I decided to take a chance. My concern was that I was not sure of the transmission rate and if there would be a lag on the DMX signal . I created a ‘line of site’ so there would be no issues with trying to penetrate walls, crouds of people and things like that and put them to use. I have to say that I was surprised that there was no noticeable delay. It might be measured in milliseconds, but that’s not enough to screw up any lightshow. I think this would work in any small venue and possibly larger ones although they usually have much larger budgets than things like I am involved in. Just be aware that these particular ones need to have power to both the transmitter and receiver. (There are battery versions of these available if needed.) Also it doesn’t hurt to be creative and remember that it doesn’t have to be plugged directly into a light or even a splitter. You can make a line of site by plugging it into a cable dangling somewhere close to your rig to make the line of site. I don’t know how much penetration you will get in crouds and walls so maybe if these people on the other negative reviews would transmit over the crouds or place the receiver prior to a thick wall, it would work better for them and would not be much more work. Just think before you do and don’t be afraid to ask questions if you don’t understand something. Good luck with your shows and remember to have fun!

Ditch the cables, 7 separate frequencies, totally versatile
This unit just works. Have a trouble spot where you don't want to run a cable? Don't! We started using these in a DMX universe where we had 3 separate places that lighting would exist, but no good way to run cables to any of them. We used one transmitter and 3 receivers on the same frequency for the one universe and it works wonderfully. You can also have multiple frequencies at the same time, and even multiple universes. Runs on the 2.4ghz range.

Exceed my expectations!
I purchased this product so that we didn't have to run DMX cable from the light controller to our LED lights both at church & at my TV studio. Because of the price I was a bit skeptical but I thought I'd give it a shot. I must say that this product is outstanding! We just used it for our church's Palm Sunday service and they worked flawlessly! There's about 70 feet from the light controller to the first wireless receiver. We bought a total of 3 receivers for our church to try out but we have just ordered another 3 as we're so pleased with them. Our stage is about 40 feet wide by 30 feet deep so we are grouping our lights by 3 or 4 with each group starting with a wireless receiver. And because there's no need for long DMX cable runs, we're putting 2 LEDs in the drum cage. They have also been working great at my TV studio where the light controller is in a room closed off to the studio but the transmitter & receiver have worked perfectly. This is a great product that has exceeded my expectations. The setup couldn't be simpler. It literally takes about a second for the devices to start communicating with one another. And it's a lot less work setting up various lighting scenarios in pretty much any location where you have power. All without having to run DMX cable!

UPDATE - Response Received; finally
I gave Donner a very negative reView recently. At the time, they deserved it since I’d received two different shipments of these products which were relatively useless given the random ability to stop working. Furthermore they had been unresponsive to several email requests for warranty replacements.Apparently that negative review caught their attention. Subsequently they were tripping over each other to make things right. And they did. They’ve recently provided me with brand new units that have thus far worked perfectly.I am reserving full five stars until such time that these products continue to work flawlessly over an extended period.I will revisit this review in several months. So far so good.

Super compact and easy to use
Took a bet on these and it paid really well. The range is really good, I was tweaking things with about 900 or something feet and the signal was strong. They do use a power adaptor but its range is also pretty long so no complaints from my end. The LED channel groups are also really good and you can have up to 7 Groups. I don't really use as many (maybe 4 or 5 at times) but having those choices open allow me to focus more on the creative part of the job. So yeah I'd say if you want a small and easy to use system you should definitely try these out.
