excellent edition
N.B this is a review of the SIGNET CLASSICS three novels in one - Frankenstein, Dracula, AND Dr Jeckyll. Seeing as amazon mix up all the reviews of different editions into one, which makes life VERY confusing for people like me who need to read a review of the SPECIFIC EDITION.Ok, that sorted, all I wanted to say is this is excellent value as has the three classics under one cover, each numbered accordingly i.e you finish one, the next novel starts at its own page one, there are no notes and other academic apparatus (for me a blessing), and there's a short but sweet intro by Stephen King. The usual Signet small-sized binding, type of paper, and rather large font filling most of the page (my least favourite thing about these editions i confess), make this an ideal book to have for travelling/carrying around, as well as for reading or even (absit nomen) studying, without taking up much room at all on yer bookshelves. Definitely a wise choice.

Finally the original stories...
First off, the Stephen King introduction is both interesting and worthless: These are classic horror stories which have nothing to do with Stephen King. I love him but he doesn't add value to this book.Second, I wanted to know what words were written way back when. And now I know. All I will say is that Francis Ford Coppolla made his Dracula very close to the original book. Well done.As for Frankenstein and Jeckel&Hyde, I didn't know those stories. I remember movies and popular culture references, knew nothing about the actual stories. Now I know: Both stories are about guilt. I didn't expect that.I like this book. I'm glad I bought it, I wanted to read the words of the authors.

Love this collection!
Three great novels in one for a low price that really can't be beat! Love Frankenstein, the story of a scientist who wants to break all the rules of science and then run away from his child the moment it is created. Just another deadbeat Dad whose lack of parenting causes a hell of a temper tantrum on the part of the monster. Dracula is great for those who want to read about symbolic sex and true seduction. See what vampires are really like when they don't sparkle in the sunshine. Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is a great moral warning for those who want to cross the laws of God and also want to sin without feeling guilty or having to take responsibility for their actions. Sinners beware - science is the pathway to destruction.
