Dr H Walter LackRedouté. The Book of Flowers

I thought I was buying a small version of this book, as I got it for £35, so when the mailman made me go down the stairs to pick my parcel because it was heavy I was really surprised: this book is huge, thick, gorgeous and full of flowers! I'd even say that for £35 it is a bargain.

Such a wonderful wonderful book, the illustrations are beautiful, the writing about Redoute is interesting and informative ... and although a little more than I would normally spend on a book it was worth every penny :)

Bought this as a present for a friend who enjoys painting flowers. She was delighted with it although too heavy for her to take to her art class.

This beautifully produced book was bought as a present and has delighted the recipient. You need to be familiar with Redoute's work, although the pictures are superbly executed to me they appeared somewhat clinical and repetitive but I am neither artist nor gardener. The book is large and very much on the heavy side (in excess of 3kg ) so really needs to be read at the table or on a bookstand. If Redoute is your thing this is excellent value.
