Sandman: Overture. 30th Anniversary Edition

Continuing in the mastery of the sandman ; brilliant story telling, amazing illustrations , I couldn’t put it down until I finished reading it cover to cover then reread it again to appreciate the details. It’s beautiful through and through. If you are a sandman fan this is a must read!

Awesome story, mind-blowing artwork. Must buy for every DC fan.The artworks ar totally abstract and like the ones you see in galleries. The artist used water colour, photoshop, photography and various other techniques toh achieve the masterpieces the book contains.Packaging could have been better. The cover gpt damaged a bit.

Not sure what the point of this was beyond wanting to bring Dream back for one last book many years after the main series ended. Sandman as a whole already has plenty of strange flights of fancy, weird worlds, fantastical details and texture, etc. However in this book that's all there is. The story here feels really unnecessary and is honestly difficult to parse given what we know so far about the rules of the Endless universe.If you've read the whole series and really just can't get enough, then I guess you should check this out. But in no way is this required reading. If you haven't read Sandman yet, DO NOT read this first as a prelude to the first book. It won't make any sense at all.

OverturesThis is the story that happens before book 1 of the Sandman graphic novel.What happens to Dream before he was captured and held prisoner.It was great to meet some more of the endless. Destiny that holds all the answers in the book. Of course, Dream's mother endless darkness. I enjoyed the snippet at the end that showed both Desire and Despair. I love the idea of the endless and can't wait to read further in this amazing series that revolutionized the graphic novel.
