easy peasy
If you have pie irons you need iron recipes. This little book fits the bill. I keep it in my camping box and when I start to plan a camping trip this is one of the first things I pull out. there are recipes for breakfast, lunch and dinner plus some awesome desserts. My picky eater son loves to help chose what we will be eating.

Great little cookbook!
I have also purchased the pie irons so I needed this cookbook. It brings back memories of being a child in the fifties. We used a pie iron in our fire place to make many great treats during the winter months. You will find all of these great recipes in this small pamphlet type cookbook.

Has some clever ideas
For the price of this book you get what you pay for. It is black and white newspaper type paper and no illustrations to go along with the recipes. That being said there are a lot of clever ideas that I would not have thought of on my own. It actually got my creative juices going once I realized all the things that can be made in my handy little pie irons. The recipes are divided by which pie iron you have but I noticed that with a little modification most recipes can be used in your basic square pie iron. There are no fancy recipes here, just good hearty camping food that will add a few inches to your belly.

For Camping
We recently bought a travel trailer and have been enjoying all things camping. I bought this as a gift for my husband so we could have more recipes and ideas for our pie iron. The recipes are simple and easy to do. The book is smaller, but that doesn't bother me since it's for camping. We will definitely try some of them and mark our favorites.

decent book
This book isn't amazing but it definitely isn't bad. It is actually fairly small and only contains a handful of recipes. None of them are particularly creative or inspired and I would assume are actually available online. If you've giving a mountain pie maker as a gift, this book can definitely make a great addition to help people get started. However, if you are looking for something to take the deliciousness that are mountain pies to the next level of creativity and amazingness, definitely skip this book. Just as an added bonus for those who bought this book and were a little disappointed in its slim content, I will share one of my own favorite recipes. Ingredients: 2 buttermilk biscuits flattened diced mix of onions/peppers (bell)/jalapenos shredded mozzarella cheese pepperoni tomato sauce Oil/butter (I know they say don't use butter, I haven't really had a problem as long as you burn it off later) the insides of the pie iron. Be liberal with your oil. Basically what you want to do is flatten one biscuit on each side of the pie iron, mix and then pack all the other ingredients in, then close the iron and cook it VERY SLOWLY over/in an open fire. I cannot emphasize enough that you need to do this slowly otherwise the outside will burn and the inside will be raw. Take your time and get the biscuits nice and goldenbrown on the outside. They will puff up really nice. It'll be like your own little pizza empanada. So so good.... It's easy, the ingredients are very common and it is pretty quick to make even out by a campfire. Plus bread is boring. Why not give yourself a gut-bomb with super fatty biscuits!?

I may need another
We are putting together a fire pit as a fund raiser for our local Relay for Life. I wanted to put some fun things in it. I found the pie iron then I found this neat little book. It had so many fun recipes, I may have to order myself a pie iron and one of these books for my back yard fire pit.
