I've been using this tools for a few years now and I can say they are absolutely the best. The a re sturdy, stay clean without too much hassle, and have excellent grip. My hands often get sweaty, especially my palms, and I often have a hard time holding small tools for long periods of time - that's why I decided to buy this set. I saw the grooved hand grips and thought "My sweaty hands could use a nice grip". I was right and I can say with confidence they do NOT slip out of my hands when I need to use them for long periods of time. There are a lot of different head tip shapes to choose to use and some I use a lot more than others so maybe the selection is a little overkill but for a price like that you can't complain. I've never had a problem with the tools bending or giving way under pressure which has been a problem for me in the past when buying tools like these. I prefer the stainless steel over wooden body because of the way it feels (much more sturdy in your hands) and the grip as I mentioned before. They stay clean as long as you rinse them in hot water when you're finished with your project. Other carvers that I've bought in the past often get dirty in the grip areas and you can never get them clean but these are fairly easy to maintain. Would definitely tell other people to buy this set over most others. There are some competitors out there at this price but they don't have the selection that this set does.

I have to admit this is a great set, I was worried a bit at first, I got these for work with Polymer clay and I wasn't too sure if they were right for it, But they are great. The only issue I've run into is sometimes on white clay it seems to leave metal coloring marks on it now and then. But I think a good hot water scrubbing (something I should have done as soon as I got them.) will solve that. You get all the tools pictured. in a nice roll up case for travel or storage, And they seem pretty heavy duty, I dropped mine on the floor and one got stepped on by a heavy work boot while we were moving, So I think they can stand up to quite alot of wear and tear depending if your doing clay, Or pottery or whatever you may buy them for. And although the case is nice for storage and travel, I'd buy and extra case or a cup to keep them in at all other times because where some of them are sharp, I see the plastic case getting damaged if they were pulled in and out alot. All and all I'm happy, And i feel it was worth what I spent.

Totally not what I was expecting! I didn't realize how much of a variety and what good sized tools this set has! Each tool is about 6" long with two different tips; one on each end. I purchased these for sculpting with Super Sculpey and Apoxie. I haven't tried them out yet but I was very pleased at the quality and variety for only $7.50! Also was not expecting them to come with a case. (Although I did get rid of the case b/c the tools kinda poked their way thorough the bottom and it's pretty useless. But whatever, I didnt pay for the case...I paid for the tools). Yes, some have marks, blemishes, some minor rust spots and some scuffs Yes, the case is pretty useless Yes, they are not eye blindingly shiny But they are just rugged TOOLS and will be destroyed when I'm done with them anyway! If you look at one of my other used clay tools, you'll KNOW it's used. I don't think the other reviewers that gave a poor review got used tools. They are probably just flawed from the factory or aged from sitting on the shelf. They are most likely not handled gently in the storing and shipping process since they're just metal tools. Mine still had the little red plastic covers on three picks and I don't feel any rough spots on the tool tips where it matters. I am super happy with this set. They're metal, sturdy and it contains a huge variety to choose from to get better sculpting detail all for just $7.50! Totally worth it. I'm going to quote what another reviewer on here said b/c it's very true: "If you just need a variety of sculpting shapes and don't care what they look like, you really can't beat this for the price."

So I love these. And while they are technically listed for 'wax carving', that is one of the few things I have actually not used them for. BUT WAIT, you say, WHAT DO YOU USE THEM FOR?? Well I'm so glad you asked! So far I have used them for... -Vinyl weeding. You *could* spend $20 on a special 'Circut' or 'Silhouette' brand set of 'weeding tools' for your vinyl decal projects...but these puppies work just as well (if not better) for a fraction of the price -Teeth cleaning. I'm 57% sure that these aren't intended to be used for dental hygiene purposes, but they look pretty darn close to what my dentist uses, so I've started using these in my own oral care routine and they work fantastic. Upside? I'm a lot nicer to myself than my dentist is. NEVER GOING BACK TO THE DENTIST (well. the jury is still out on this one) -Modelling clay. Pretty similar to wax. Except softer. And more fun colors. -Cake decorating. Again, pretty sure that isn't what these were made for, but they are great for intricate designs in fondant. Sorta like modelling clay. But tastier. -Sewing. I've used several of these picks for various sewing needs...like turning out tiny corners in doll clothes. I know I'm forgetting some because I use one or more of these so frequently its hard to keep track. They are like a set of pointy all-purpose tools for your everyday aspiring dentist/crafty person!

I use these with polymer clay. So far so good! They definitely are never going to break or rust. Love these things.
