Needed a little sharpening
Other than needing a little touch up on the blade; it’s a quality product that’s just the right size for a non commercial kitchen.

Great knife
The headline really spells it out well. This knife arrived in quality packaging and was sharp right out of the box. I have purchased kitchen knives in the past where you could see grind marks on the bevel and that was not the case here. It has quickly become my go-to knife displacing my Wusthof Pro 8 in chef's knife.

Misleading Description
This knife is manufactured in China; it may be of a Japanese style of knife but it is made in China. I believe that the product description is deliberately misleading; especially since the original barcode and place of origin was covered by a new and different barcode sticker.

Great knife with inaccurate description
The blade is great. The blade length is actually 8 1/4", not 8"

Great knife for small processing but...
...the reason for the but, I work in a produce cooler. The metal absorbed the cold so much I hands were purple from cutting strawberry for 3 hrs. Other than that, great knife, comfortable in hand

Looks better than it cuts or its quality
Beautiful and heavy knife (model 6" chef). Despite a few reviews for bad quality, I kept my hopes. After all, German Stainless steel 1.4116 is above your average, I would say very decent steel for kitchen knifes - considering the price of $36 and $9 discount - for $27 such a knife and all it has to offer is a no brainer, comparing to Henkel's and Wusthof price range. Then...-Cuts ok - but not as expected of that grade of steel - at this point I would keep it, just sharpen it more often with honing steel anyways.-Handle is a little bulky - and weight distribution is more towards the handle - but this is a matter of choice, not quality.-Used it for a week - 5-10 times. Hand washed, towel dried - noticed a think crack in the handle, picture attached with pointers.I mean, common, have Henkel's knifes for a decade, and the only reason for this is a smaller 6" chef - so after a week handle is cracking? - that isn't good, so returning while I can. - Gave it 3 generous stars in my humble opinion Perhaps 3.5 but didn't dare for 4. For those who gave 5 star thinking they reached the ceiling and got the best knife they ever used, let me break it to you, you had never held a sharp knife before.

You get what you pay for
This is not a good knife. The balance is terrible. The handle is far too short and glossy, making it slippery and uncomfortable. The bolster was too long to pinch. The edge it ships with wasn't delicate enough for slicing, nor was it suitable for chopping. The knife was dragging and squishing. The smooth finish on the steel meant food clung to the sides. It felt unsafe. So, it wasn't a good cleaver and it was too rough in the hand to make a good chef's knife.I ended up using an angle grinder to take some weight off the tip, about 1.5 square inches of material, and grind down the bolster to fit my hand in a chef's pinch. This meant decreasing the angle on the sides and grinding away space for the index finger. I roughed up the glassy handle with sandpaper, then waxed it to give it some grip. Finally, I added some texture to the blade with a flap disk to prevent food from sticking so badly. For 40$ and an hour of my time, I now have a very nice vegetable chopper.

Comfortable to hold
I'm not a chef, I don't try to do machine-gun-fast chops like the cooking shows. I'm more "casual kitchen" than "serious foodie" most of the time, but there are also times when I need to process whole boxes of produce to put up for storage.I also have arthritis, and these knives are a dream. The handle is a little fatter and rounded than many knives, and the transition from handle to blade is smooth, so I'm not trying to knuckle up on the blade over a sharp bolster ledge. I can process an entire batch of apples for the food dehydrator and my hand feels fine afterwards. With my other knives I had to rest and take ibuprofen half way through because my hands were *killing* me.They may not be quite as hard as more expensive knives, but I keep one of those counter sharpeners handy, and run a stroke or two through the honing vee, and they haven't needed sharpening yet. Most knives do better with a quick honing every use, or every 2-3 hours of use. The blade isn't dull, but the very edge can round over a bit and that makes cuts less sharp. I don't expect eternal sharpness from my tools, it's a working relationship, I keep up my end and they keep up theirs. If you're looking for a comfortable knife, give this a try.

This is not a knife, it's short sword.
You know how sometimes you buy something - not because it is going to be used as intended -but because it is just satisfying to have? This kitchen knife is one of those. My son suggested it is more of a "gladius" than a kitchen knife (more like a bayonet), and I would have to agree. Unless you plan to filet a very large fish like a salmon our lake trout, I am really not sure what else to do with this knife, but when you hold it, it's all good. If you are looking for a great kitchen knife that does it all, try the Nakiri instead. This one is for gladiators and amazons, only.

Great knives
To start off I own a few tuo knives. I wanted a pairing knife so I decided to try out the osprey series. It's similar to the fiery series except it uses a different color of Handle. The knife is very nice, it's great quality and hefty for a pairing knife. It arrived in a alright box (not as nice as other tuo series) knife was very sharp out of the box and works as to be expected. Easy to handle and maneuver this knife will not disappoint. The only reason I would dock a point is the tuo printing on the blade. I find it takes away from the overall experience, however tuo does this on all knives but because the blade is much smaller it stands out to me more. The handle profile is also much different but still very comfortable. I've attached pics of the tuo fiery 5 inch utility knife to compare.
