Rugged Ridge | Cowl Vent Scoop, Ram Air Induction | 13307.01 | Fits 1978-1995 Jeep CJ & Wrangler YJ

Exactly the part i needed, slightly misleading name... Not sure if everyone will have the same issue, but the word "smoke" in the name led me to believe the part would be a somewhat transparent plastic, with a "smoke" tint to it. The piece i received was a full-on black polymer, roughly the same finish as a glock pistol frame. (This, to me, was preferable over the expected "smoke" look, so something to keep in mind) As to functionality, perfect. The included hardware was exactly the right length and diameter, for a quick and easy install with just one screwdriver. This was installed on an 87 Wrangler YJ, solely in the hopes it would mediate/eliminate the waterfall effect on my feet and pedals. Anyone else here who is looking for a fix to this issue need look no further. Has kept the jeeps interior, and my feet, dry and warm in some torrential downpours. Also looks pretty good on the hood, in my opinion. Not flashy or obtrusive, looks like it could be a stock option, but to the seasoned Jeeper eye, it will be seen as an indicator that you are a fan of functional style, and dry feet! Buy this part. Your Jeep and socks will thank you. And one last thing to mention, depending on the direction you face the scoop, you may notice a good boost in felt air from your defrost/fan. I found a more noticeable difference facing the mouth toward the windshield, your results may vary. Again, a great buy.

Very simple install, included hardware works perfectly, and it works great. This helps keep rain, water and mud when offroading, and debris out of the vent while also catching the air deflected off of the windshield while driving. I can tell a huge difference in how hard the vent blows with the scoop installed. Please note that this can be installed facing either direction, however, due to the way wind deflects off of the windshield it's more beneficial to have it facing the rear of the jeep. This also keeps water and mud out of the vent while driving in the rain or offroad. I like the way it looks as well. It took less than 2 minutes to install. Just have a T20 for the stock hardware and a Phillip's for the hardware included with the scoop and you'll be all set.

Doesn't have the screw holes for the 4 corners, but it is designed to go on top of the existing grill. Comes with longer screws to screw it in place, and helps to keep the rain out if the vent. Good product.

Great product, it says smoke in the description but it is actually a black opaque plastic which is much preferable, feels very strong, mounts with existing screw holes perfectly on my 1995 Jeep YJ. This product is better than it's competition and has a better price too, most other brands are cheap, flimsy, and mount with tape instead of hardware. the two little supports in the center have a great look on my jeep and really make the product stronger. My one complaint is that the provided screws did not work but I honestly think that is a problem with my jeep and not with the product. I previously tried a competitor's product and returned it in favor of this.

Bought in black just to paint. Fits perfect on my 94 yj. My feet seem cooler.

Comes with screws that fit my 94 Jeep YJ. This hood scoop is an exact fit over the flat factory air intake. It installed in 15 minutes and looks fabulous. Flat black and molded plastic. Fit securely and will keep out the torrential rain better than the flat factory grate.
