Sharpens great, it's not a fast set up, but it is as precise as you want it to be. Would recommend for average to smaller blades.

This sharpens my knives very well. I'm not a pro sharpener by any means, but I do need cutlery in my kitchen to be nice and sharp. Was able to sharpen an old Cutco chefs knife back to a 15 degree angle and now slices beautifully. Did other knives set fo 20 degree angles and results were just as good. Set up was pretty straightforward, but a few tweaks were necessary. There were some complaints about the whetstones coming loose. This happened to me as soon as I began using it. The stone was snug when installed, but loosened up after a few swipes. The adjustable handle was not tightened to the stone arm enough to keep the stone arm from moving and thus weakened the spring tension on the front stone holder. Once I readjusted the spring tension and tightened the set screw on the adjustable handle to the stone arm, problem was solved. No more dropping whetstones. The other complaint that was coming up was the fixture not holding the same degree when flipping over the blade. On all the blades I was sharpening, it was off by one degree when flipped (others have mentioned 5 or more degrees off, so accuracy varies). Fortunately this variance can be adjusted without a lot of effort. Resetting the degree angle took but a moment to re-adjust to the correct degree using my iPhone level. Much easier than having to remove and then remount the knife. Unfortunately the claim that this will maintain the same angle when flipping the knife is not accurate (at least for my unit). This would have gotten a five star if not for this. I found the construction and materials to put this together are solid and very good. Once assembled and mounted and tweaked, nothing came loose or bound up while sharpening. Using a light touch and letting the stones do the work rather than pressure worked nicely for me. This tool really isn't going to be accurate or last very long if you are heavy handed. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the cutting edge this produces, let alone ease of use.

Nice that it comes with 3 diamond stones, I will probably use these the most. It is a little difficult to set up, but not too hard, more putsy to adjust. The gripper does a good job, but it would be nice if it had thumbscrews instead of hex wrench. There are 2 sizes of hex wrench, one is a looped T handle, the other is just a normal L type, would have been nice if it was a T also. Adjusting is fairly easy and if you are doing multiple knives of similar size you don't have to reset angle as it will be the same or very close. I could have opted for one that had preset angle stops, but they are ridiculously priced. If I want a different angle with this one I can set where I want. I will also use it to sharpen our modify some of my woodworking tools. For the price, if you aren't doing a lot of sharpening, this is actually a great bargain. The regular stones are good and should last pretty long & the holder does a good job & easy to change to different stones quickly.

For the money it’s hard to beat has a little slop in the ball that the rod slide thru but it gets job done the knives clamp down good in the sharpener and with a little adjusting and masking tape you can get degrees close enough on both sides....not as nice as some but for price it will give you sharp knives. I bought my brother one I liked it so much

Broken with in a few mins do to cheap pot metal. the clamp just bends when you tighten down on it. i wouldn't buy this for knifes, it definitely cant do scissors. To work the clamp you have to adjust 5 -7 screws, its tremendously aggravating to work with. I hate this product. i could make a better sharpener with two by fours. I figured it was garbage but i didnt think it would be this bad.

Takes a minute to get the feel but once you do...you'll be sharpening EVERYTHING!

To say that I have used many sharpeners would be an understatement. From simple stones, to ceramic pull through, to files, diamond headed stuff, and all the "best sharpener in the world" BS. I misplaced my stone set during a move and this item came up with stellar reviews. I will say, the reviews are accurate. There are several great video's online YouTube, showing it's usage. I have had it under a month and have sharpened, several knives and scissors with it. Simple to use, accurate and efficient.

This product will absolutely save you money on knives. You will get good sharpness. It is a little stressful to make sure you have all the parts in place, and the blade faces you on the edge of a counter, so keep that in mind. You also have to learn how to use it, because there's a real chance you ruin your knives with this, or any, sharpener. But you'll get a great edge once you learn, and you can stop buying knives.

Great product, using different stones at different angles has always given me a better blade

The instructions are in broken english which makes it very difficult to understand what to tighten and when. The whole unit feels flimsy until tightened just right, and even then I'm not totally convinced it's stable enough. Using double-sided tape to attach the rubber edges onto the knife grip should be done during manufacturing, it's fiddly and didn't even stick properly. We'll have to go back and superglue it later. It's not a total waste, the diamond sharpening stones seem to work well, we haven't been able to get our knives as sharp as some of the videos online but maybe we'll get there with a bit of practice.
